Schaumburg caught my eye. My dad's shop was at nerge rd & roselle rd we lived in Hoffman estates. He would stop at the Shumrose (Schaumburg rd & roselle rd I think) on way home on Saturday. I remember the old bar in there that was from the 1800's . Is that tavern still there ? this was back in late 60's till we moved to fla in 72. thanks

I have been Schaumburg 23 years, if the bar looked like an old house, it is now a Lou Malnati's (has been since I moved here). If it was a 2 story brick building just south of the intersection, it was a bar/tavern up until about a year and half ago when it closed. I don't recall its name, but now has been sold and is being currently renovated. Don't know what it is going to be as the only signs advertise the construction company doing the work on the building.
