    anyone have unlimited carfax?

    I just happen to have a carfax this month. Here you go: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION 6 WARRANTY CALCULATOR -------------------------------------------------------------------------- CARFAX estimated the remaining original...

    See you later, guys!

    Hey all, I've met a few of you over the last couple of years, though I wasn't very active in the North Texas group. Just wanted to let everyone know I sold my Marauder to a nice guy in Irving. I let him know about the site, maybe you'll see him around. On a positive note, I listed my car on...

    The best- and worst-selling cars by company

    Why don't they show the Marauder as the least-sold car for Mercury? Didn't they only sell like 4000 2004's? TTYL David

    Parts for sale

    $10,000? Geez. How about the Marauder right above it with a "bad engine" for $17K? I wish I had that kind of nerve when I sold my old cars! TTYL David

    Larger rear rotors from Ford parts bin?

    Ed, thanks for all your research on my question--I think you provided more information than I ever expected from the board, and I appreciate it much. Sorry my idea didn't pan out. :) TTYL David

    What Happened????

    That looks like the vacuum reservoir that normally sits on the driver's-side inner fender. Could that be it? TTYL David

    Headlight Switch Question...

    On a related note, I wish the dimmer switch had some kind of backlighting...I do the same fumbling in the dark trying to find the thumbwheel. Of course, I end up inadvertently turning the interior lights on, since I don't remember which direction is dim or bright. TTYL David

    Larger rear rotors from Ford parts bin?

    Ed, thanks for looking up this information. I'll admit that the chances I'm stumbled onto a bolt-on package are pretty low. I tend to think that if the Limo uses a different axle housing, the BPS car will too. Like Todd said, they've probably just used an entire F150 housing, and its...

    Larger rear rotors from Ford parts bin?

    Todd, thanks for the reply. It has already occurred to me that if these Town Car parts work, I may have to use ALL of its associated parts, not just the rotors. The larger parts bin rotors are my goal, not the complete solution. I haven't heard of anyone else considering this yet, this BPS Town...

    Larger rear rotors from Ford parts bin?

    Thanks for the replies so far, guys. Ed, if you access to the Ford parts listings, that'd be great! I wasn't aware of different axle housings on the limo cars, I just assumed they used the same 8.8 axle assembly. Would that affect the external hardware I was thinking about...

    Larger rear rotors from Ford parts bin?

    I've been trying to read all the threads about replacements for our small rear rotors. I realize that wanting to upgrade them may be mostly a cosmetic concern, but what's wrong with cosmetics? :) Anyway, the 2004+ armored Town Car comes with 13" nonvented rear rotors, which I was thinking...

    Build Dates / VIN Sequences / Total Production #s

    Sorry, the first dates I posted are wrong. These are the numbers I got from Brian: VIN: 615253 Built: 6/18/02 Bought: 6/07/03 Do these numbers fit better with yours? :) TTYL David

    3.4L Turbo Impala --> 4.6L V8 Marauder

    You can reuse the existing wiring and harness for the new gauges. There are quite a few threads here about the installation, and there's at least one with photos of each step. :) TTYL David

    3.4L Turbo Impala --> 4.6L V8 Marauder

    The volt meter is real, but the oil pressure gauge is not. It reads an unwavering 60psi or so, and the sender is a simple on/off switch at 6psi. The fix is to replace with a genuine Auto Meter sender and gauge, which a pretty simple job. The face is cosmetically slightly different than what...

    See what the Corvette guys say about us

    The comment that the Impala's interior was better is a howler. The SS had a notoriously low-quality interior which has not aged well. I considered buying an SS when they were new in 1996 (knowing it was the last year), and rejected it solely for its poor fit and finish. It definitely didn't...

    Mr.Clean Carwash

    I had the same experience. My paint felt "sticky" after it dried on its own, and couldn't use my "california" duster until I had washed the car again with something different--the duster was only able to drag the dust around instead of just removing it, making a bigger mess than what I started...

    Chrysler 300s are EVERYWHERE!!!

    The easiest way to recognize the V8 300c is the presence of chrome mirrors, door handles, and rub strips. I read that the 300c/Magnum factory can build approximately 260,000 of these per year. They had planned the V8 demand to be about 25%, but sales are currently running around 50% V8. I like...

    Trouble-free Stock Mm's?

    I have a 2003 300a, which is stock except for the replacement autometer gauges. The only show-stopping problem I've experienced was the rear pinion seal failure at around 10,000 miles, with 18,000 currently showing. There aren't many miles left in my rear tires, but that's about normal. TTYL David

    '03 Marauder Options?

    If I recall correctly: trunk organizer, cd changer, heated seats, rear spoiler. If I missed something, I'm sure someone else will add. :) TTYL David
