What did you do to your car today?

Finally getting it out and working on it. Fuel pump unresponsive, so had it towed to a local shop because I don't want to deal with 16 gallons of 93 octane.

Waukesha, WI - Mon 9/2 Labor Day - Broadway and Racine

Marauder or Marauder clone northbound on 59 Bypass at Racine by Kwik Trik / B&M. Black, minimal chrome, aftermarket black and grey wheels, Mercury logos front and back, trunk spoiler. Don't think it had a Marauder bumper, only saw it for a second.

    Roanoke, VA, US220/Franklin Rd Mon 10/16 12:45pm

Clean black MM very slowly pulled into HC Baker on Franklin Rd / US 220. No obvious mods. Older gentlemen slowly made his way to the door, and then I lost him. I was the creep grinning and giving a thumbs up from a different parking lot in a rental Nissan Pathfinder with Indiana plates.

Wanted To Buy Wiper cowl cover

Does anyone know if the wiper linkage for the 03 MM is the same as the 03 GM / CV? I think I bent one of the linkage arms during my wiper motor replacement and it is catching on the pivot arm screw.

What did you do to your car today?

Might consider in the future. My go-to for a 10 minute job is Turtle Wax spray: https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-T-9-1-Step-Dry/dp/B0007TV6M0. My go-to for a several hour job is NXT Techwax: https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G12718-Generation-Tech-2-0-18/dp/B0002UQATS

What did you do to your car today?

Got alot done this weekend. Wiper Motor: Removed wiper assembly and cleaned fully to fix wacky wipers. Found condensed pine needles in the "garbage chute" at the bottom. I haven't parked near a pine tree frequently in 6+ years, so I've been driving around with them the whole time. If anyone...

    Eventful day

Shop got all locking lug nuts off and replaced with plain lug nuts. Can't align today because of bad joints, another thing on my to-do list. Getting it back in a few hours to assess next steps. Wheels weren't virgins, so the tiny amount of rash on the edge will blend well with the other...

    Eventful day

Lost a bit of time this morning and need to get back to work, so I'll keep this terse. Left Milwaukee headed for Chicago and front passenger tire looked suspiciously low. Topped it off, crossed fingers, and got back on the freeway. 10 miles later, wheel started to pull to the right. 5 miles...

Crown Vic (or CVPI) Effect-Real or Myth

I'm getting the effect less and less, but I can confirm that two cars have 100% pulled off of the road and onto the shoulder when I was coming up behind them with speed, and they pulled back onto the road after letting me pass. When my friends ask about the CVPI Effect, I'm delighted to tell...

    BCM option?

Checking back in with a BCM update. Airtex aftermarket part failed last November after about 2.5 years (~20k miles?). Symptom again was fan on high as long as the key was turned. Tapping BCM with screwdriver did not give me temporary control of fan speed like before. Just replaced tonight...

Wanted To Buy Fog Light Sockets x2

Looking for two fog light sockets. I believe the whole assembly (3W3Z-15200-AA ?) includes it, but I'm having trouble isolating just the socket. I have the fog light housing and the pigtails, but both sockets took a crap in their own unique way, because they are both beautiful and unique...

    Rough Idle / Misfire (Insights?)

+1 on torqueing the plugs correctly. I ignored this advice and I've now belched and timeserted plugs #6 and #8. Buy a halfway decent torque wrench and learn how to use it. This isn't an old steel Buick; it's a modern aluminum motor and she can be a delicate flower sometimes. A sub-$100 torque...

Blown Spark Plugs - A Very Very Short Pictorial

I'm doing a Timesert 5553 on at least one cylinder tonight. How bad do I need to worry about turning the engine so the valves are out of the way? Are they really within a few millimeters of the spark plug hole?

Blown Spark Plugs - A Very Very Short Pictorial

This weekend I belched out my 2nd plug on the driver's side. I finally dropped the dime on the Time-Sert kit and will be doing the whole driver's side bank. Their website says you should turn the motor so the valves are closed and the piston is all the way at the bottom of the stroke and you...
