I believe I replaced mine with a unit from a 2005 Mountaineer. Has the built-in 6 CD. The only button that doesn't work on the steering wheel is the "Mode" selector.

Taking my 03 to the shop on Friday to try to locate the source of a knock. I don't hear anything unusual at start up but after a few minutes, at idle it is easy to hear. I don't hear it while driving...but years at the gun range and age ...may hVe something to do with that. Keeping my fingers...
