Cly 8 Misfire - found condensation on COPs, cyl 8 fouled

So an update to this - someone on FB suggested this may have been just condensation that found its way to this well. I let it sit over night, all COPs out - cleaned up the boot this morning, its more rust - no sweet smell. I am thinking, what I did smell may of been what ever vapor mixed with...

Cly 8 Misfire - found condensation on COPs, cyl 8 fouled

Hey guys, So a few weeks ago I noticed the car running a bit rough and when out for a cruise, the check engine light started to blink on acceleration - but then went away. Got home and hooked up the laptop, checked the history and see a ton of misfire counts for cyl 8. Figured, okay let me...

    Stuttering tranny behavior

So wanted to update everyone - I decided after going back and forth to take it to the dealer, mainly because I don't drive it a lot and figure it would take a while to get all the fluid out after a few pan drops and suspecting the fluid was original, I wanted to get it all flushed out. So I had...

    Stuttering tranny behavior

Okay makes sense, the money that would of been spent on the flush can be spent on the pan and filter, so looks like I will drop the pan tomorrow instead of going to the dealer :)

    Stuttering tranny behavior

Will do, looks like it makes future changes a breeze to be done when I do my oil changes. I was able to get into a dealership on Friday for the flush, unless anyone thinks I am better off just dropping the pan and doing a few cycles of that? Either way I am going to need to drop the pan...

Sounds good, I will reach out to him regarding the tune. From what you said and what I have read, this seems to be the best option overall anyhow.

    Stuttering tranny behavior

Actually one other question- and I know this has been debated over and over, but thought I asked due to the age of the fluid and the miles and the fact that the transmission is acting most likely because of the fluid.. do you guys recommend a flush over a pan drop and drain? I figure the pan...

    Stuttering tranny behavior

Sounds good! I took a look at the service history and did not see it changed, and figured when I bought the car at 30,000 the place did not do that either, which is fine because I wanted to drop the pan anyway and inspect. I will try to knock that out this weekend or next, then if the issues go...

    Stuttering tranny behavior

Hey all, So the girl has been sleeping in the garage for the winter and I finally took her out today for her initial cruise and to get an inspection. Besides the fact that the shop had to take all my tint off to pass and leave glue residue (that, a different story) had a nice run with her. I...

Well, looks like I finally become a member of the club

Thanks everyone! Its not a secret that I have wanted a Marauder since the concept and production, and even after literally parting piece by piece my own build still was not the real thing. But I learned a lot during that build which I am grateful for the knowledge. During hurricane Sandy years...

    Heh, my car is haunted!

You bet! I found the problem.. I went driving today and got out in front of the house and did a walk around, my headlights were on again! Got my probe out and noticed on the HID side harness, the low power wire was powered - which should not be when it is not connected to the car's harness...

    Suspension is fixed...!

No offense at all, but comments toward a dealership (and any dealership, not just Ford) are always going to be like that. Reason being, the price is much higher. But I agree with you, usually the people at a dealership have more knowledge and deal with these problems on a day to day basis, my...

    Heh, my car is haunted!

Going to have to do a little port forwarding and use dyndns so they have an easy to remember hostname to get to it. Luckily recently we installed a router in there for them, so I at least now have the availability of open ports and forwarding. Who ever set them up previously had their main pc...
