Storm coming... Nemo!

There is about 3 different kinds of precip falling out of the sky right now. My sis about 20 miles east (towards RI) has reported THUNDERsnow ;7.

Lights blinked once and my wife's Mini is all but completely buried in the driveway.

Fun stuff as long as the lights stay on the rest of the night.

Best,
Jonathan

Being a weather guy in the AF for 20+ years and having an interest in weather since the 6th grade, I honestly think that the role the Weather Channel has taken in regards to naming winter storms is the most ridiculous thing EVER! :shake:

What's next? Tornadoes?

I can confirm Thundersnow as well. I'm in the Mystic, CT area. Pretty cool stuff.

Smoke, where abouts in CT are you at?

Got only 10 inches of show here in Queens, NY but Suffolk county in Long Island got over 2 feet with snow drifts of 3+ feet! Cars have been stranded on the Long Island expressway over night and plows can't get through because of them. Hope Krytin and the rest of the LI MM'er are ok and checks in soon.

News just said that 40 (!!!) inches feel in Shelton, CT?!!! Holy crap!!!

@License2Bil

I'm in East Haven (32" snowfall...not including drifts as I write this!). My sister lives in Gales Ferry so looks like she's in town with you (and running on a generator since about 10 PM last night)...

Best,
Jonathan

11" here in north Jersey, but they said we'd be on the western fringe of the storm.
Think we dodged the big bullet because at one point they were suggesting that 16 " was possible. Our road is already very passable at this hour. Lights stayed on and I'm on my 2nd cuppa coffee just enjoying the view across the river. Hope all those north and east are safe and sound.

Where do you live? What river?

Only about 6" here in Mercer County:) Sun is out nice a bright as I type this (2PM) starting to melt real nice.

Stupid storm. Missed us 'cept for some rain - that washed any trace of winter weather snow we already had away!

What's all the excitement over a few inche's of snow? The electric going off would concern me but 10-20'etc of snow is fine!
