Someone explain this

Why is this Impala raised up? It has stock wheels. I usually see big cars raised up on stock wheels in bad areas. My guess is for curbs to make a quick escape. I have seen this well before big wheels were popular.

Explaination?

Either he's getting ready to install Donks or he's going old school. We use to raise our muscle cars like that back in the 70s.

Ok, I understand the rear, but why the whole car? Unless you are talking about the gasser era.

Got a btter question...why does it have a Carriage Roof???

It means it's a gangster car. The full vinyl roofs are for old people and the "half" roofs are gangbangers. I drove a GM with a "half" vinyl roof in a bad area once and EVERYONE was looking at me and they were not good looks.

Dead bodies won't fit in the trunk...too much subwoofer/stereo stuff. :D

Ha. Read my above post. LOL

Yeah and why aren't you in your Marauder taking this picture?

sent from a Samsung Galaxy far far away...

Did that once to a 69 Torino GT with Air shocks, Shock extenders, and extra high shackels, which brought my front bumper inches from the ground. Thank goodness this was before speed bumps cause it would have ripped my front bumper off.

Around here, seeing a car like that, means one of three things. 1) Wheels got repo'd, or 2) Wheels got stolen, or 3) Getting ready for big ass wheels.

Wonder if he painted the axle white and put little red lights on the bottom of the shocks ,now were talking old school.lol

Since the '90s?

Yes.

I recall around 20 years ago seeing this stuff.

It was always on huge American cars from the 70s and 80s. This Impala is the first 90s car I have seen with this mod.... actually I think I have seen a few Roadmasters with this too. I saw the car again yesterday, no big wheels. Nothing has changed.
