Hello everyone. My name is Mike, I'm a Ford Tech at a local Ford dealer. I've been into old cars my whole life. My daily driver for the past 14yrs has been a '64 Fairlane Sports Coupe. I also have a couple projects including a '65 Fairlane S/C 4spd & '65 Comet Caliente. I have always wanted a Marauder since their release in late '02. I actually checked them out at the local Lincoln/Mercury dealer and got to test drive one. What a car! Sadly my story ended there since there was no way I could afford $35k. I've worked on several here at the dealer throughout the years, always admiring them & eager to take them out for a spin around the block. Firgured that would be the closest I'd ever get to owing one...until this past Monday.
I walked into work and noticed an extremely nice '03 sitting in a service bay. As always, I took a walk around to check it out. Then I see it. A used car stocking number on the windsheild. What??? Some one traded this beauty in?!?! Right away, I jot down the number, run up front, grab the repair order & walk right up to the Sales Manager expressing my interest. An hour or so later, the paperwork in underway to make this baby mine! It was traded in by an older lady whose husband had passed away just 6 months ago. They took very good car of it, kept it garaged & under a car cover. Always maintained & hardly driven. Odometer shows just under 68k miles. Interior is flawless, engine & trans work great & bone dry. Paint has small scratches & a couple small dings, but that is to be expected of a car over 10yrs old. My plans are to keep it pretty much stock, but may end up getting a mild tune & cold air intake. Glad to be here & hoping to learn a lot & make some friends.Mike
