NOAH cover owners, question.

I bought a California Car Cover for my '04 Sport as it sits outside and rests while I work 6 days straight. I've been very happy with the cover so far, fits well, doesn't blow off, keeps the bird poo and tree leaves off. But after some time it started to be a little dingy. I notice there are washing instructions on a label inside. I follow the directions and the cover come out nice and clean. I put the cover back on the car but now when I take it off I notice there are small white particles all over the car. Its a giant pain in the butt. I wash and dry the car before I put the cover on and prior to washing the cover I could take the cover off and the car would still be clean and ready to go. Now I have to wash it again after I take the cover off. Anyone else had this experience with their NOAH? I email California Car Cover, I'm waiting to hear back.
 
Mine just allowed dirt to either go through it or under it and the paint got scratched up. I don't use it anymore.

Through my experience, owning different car covers, never owned a NOAH, but the cover is failing or seen its life.

How old is your cover?

In Honolulu, I use my cover about 2-3 times a week and after about a year or year and half, it starts to have those small particles which you have described. Yes it's a very big PIA!!! :mad2:

I also wipe down my car, after I remove the cover everytime since those small little particles will not disappear...fly off.. while I'm driving on the freeway....sort of just stick to the different panels and glass.

Would be great to know what California Car Cover responds back to you.

What did you use to wash the cover? How did you dry it before using?

7 years and never a issue with mu NOAH!
 
Jim, I used a 1/2 cup simple green, rinsed twice, commercial (non center agitator) washer just like the directions said. I dried it outside, I actually put it on the car to dry. Do you leave yours on all the time? And does it stay outside?
 
Heard back from CCC, it seems my cover, purchased in 07/12 is still under warranty and will be replace. I have to give them a call tomorrow, more to come.
 
i go through a cover every 2 years i find werthershield hd works best. but the white particals means it breacking down theres no fixing it.
 
Yeah, when I start to see the particles it's time for a new one, glad you're getting one under warranty :D
 
Me too, glad to see that there is some good customer service still in the world. Though I must say I would hope a $300 cover last more then a a year and 3 months.
 
Keep an eye out for your neighborhood cats as well. They used mine as a scratching post til resolved that issue.:D

If it makes you feel better, the one I'm about to retire in a couple weeks here gave me almost 6 years of service.

Mine stays on for maybe 2 months till I drive it, parked outside:mad2:

I dry mine before putting it on the car.

Glad they are stepping up and getting you a new cover!
 
Thanks for all the info. I think washing it some how accelerated the break down process. Nevertheless, the new cover will not get wash not matter how dirty. Also it wasn't 100% free, I had to cover shipping, the cost of the "Crown Victoria" logo and the cost of the removal of the Cal Car Cover logo. Ran me about $40.
 
Car cover

I own two collector cars. They set outside 24/7 in Iowa weather, rain, sun, heat, snow, ice, etc.
I got mine, 5 layer, on Ebay, for aprox $46 a pc and free shipping.
One is two years old, the other is about a year old.
They are water proof, not "water resistant", and any car cover is going to allow some dust to get under them and on the car when outside. It's a little thing called, "wind".
They are also UV protection, however, if you use a "wax" on your vehicle, it will "fracture", become soft, start to evaporate when the skin temp of the paint surface gets over aprox 145F. So, being softened, it will allow the dust particles to "bite" into the wax.
Get's a bit warm under a cover that sets in the hot sun.
I never wash the covers, as any detergent, etc, will slowly remove the water proofing, it's breaks that resin down over time.
Let the natural rain wash them.
When they show tearing and such, just spend another $46 and get another. No reason, other than one's ego, to spend $300 or more for the same thing you can buy without some "marketing label" on them.
Based on present condition of the oldest cover, I estimate that it is good for another 2 to 3 years.

I never thought I would ever have to buy a car cover, but I am feed up of seeing dust collect on my Marauders’ beautiful black paint; especially just after washing it few hours earlier. I park my MM in the garage and still it gets dusted. I seen the ones on EBay, and always wondered if they were any good, I will differently give them a try.

That's the only cover I have found that keeps the Florida keys sun out.
I had a Noah cover and found that it caused micro marring on my finish just putting it on and taking it off. Sent that POS back!

I'm done with having to clean the car make sure the cover is clean to put it on then wipe down with spray wax/cleaner if there's not soo much crap on the car still. And still gets hot in sun. this is what I got and its great. At least all I have to do is clean the car. held down with 4 20lb buckets and duct tape the ends of the frame so it will not move. its best to have each long end east and west so as the sun moves you will have most shade right under the tent and over the car. or you can get creative get some tarps and make a indoor tent. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/st...FYNQ7AodeEcAyw
Dirt and crap is always going to get on the car at least with this there's no sun damage. dirt can be washed but when you take a cover off a lightly dirty car for years it's going to Micro marr
