Mounting spare tire under trunk

fastblackmerc - Sorry Joe but I don't believe increasing the torsion bar tension will work. I have a decklid cover made out of masonite and carpet and unless the car is on level ground or front end on the down slope the decklid won't stay open by itself.

Out of curosity ... Which slot is/was the tensioner in?

Mine are both fully tensioned.
