What did you do to your car today?

Cut down 4 pine trees (diseased) and prepped to burn. Too windy today, hoping for good burn weather tomorrow. Mowed lawn then backed MM out and continued with garage project. Hoping to complete garage tomorrow so both Black Beasts are garage mates again.

Where did you purchase the battery Gerry24? Perhaps your FLAPS could have looked it up for you... just a thought.

Ft. Myers Ford dealership, now I’m in West Palm. The guy was adamant that it needed the receipt. I’m always keep my paperwork but it was Saturday and needed to replace ASAP. She’s my DD now since I sold my CV.

That's a shame that the Ford dealership guy was adamant Gerry24! :(

Going forward w/ your new battery, keep a copy of the receipt in the glove box, might save you and/or others reading this in the future. :)

Hmmm...the Ford dealer I primarily use keeps records of every transaction I've done with them going back to when I moved to the area in 1999. They still have me listed at the previous address in the area - can't get them to change it for some reason.:o

Returned Marauder to the local shop who worked on the car last friday. 'Check Engine' lamp came back on without the 'Check Fuel Cap' lamp this time. The periodic 'erratic idle' (trying to stall) returned too. Hoping to know something this morning.

At my daughter's house with 5 dogs, by myself and no car. Everyone has gone to work/school. Two bars of service on AT&T isn't the same as 2 bars of service on Verizon apparently. Have usable service on a spare Verizon phone and my recently upgraded AT&T phone is still useless in this area.:(

Got alot done this weekend.

Wiper Motor: Removed wiper assembly and cleaned fully to fix wacky wipers. Found condensed pine needles in the "garbage chute" at the bottom. I haven't parked near a pine tree frequently in 6+ years, so I've been driving around with them the whole time. If anyone wants some pine needles with 70,000 miles on them, PM me. Also replaced wiper motor with Rockauto replacement. Fitment was iffy, but OK. Upon install, wacky/haunted wipers have be exorcised, lights have stopped flickering at random, and regained 3 intermittency settings on the wiper stalk.

Headlights: Had nasty hazing and moisture on driver's side headlight, so bought TYC aftermarkets, installed, and adjusted. Loosened side-markers to make install easier. Bottom bolt on side-marker was a pain to reach with a ratchet and actually get the ratchet to ratchet. Any advice short of removing the air intake and battery to reach the bottom bolt on each side?

Taillight: Had a taillight with faded paint, so bought a TYC replacement. Old taillight turned out to be PO's aftermarket TYC, so it sounds like a bought myself a few years until it fades again.

Hand washed, followed by touchless local car wash with underbody flush I like, followed by hand spray wax. Wanted to full hand wax, but ran out of time this weekend.

Talked with blazen71 and going to buy his 2.5" stainless exhaust and Magnaflow mufflers. Should be louder before the snow flies.

Have you ever considered Cilajet Aviation Grade Wax? A cut above the Cilajet Automotive Grade Wax and a bit more expensive too. This was applied to my 2005 Mustang ONCE in 2005 and is still holding up. Hoping to get my detailer to apply this to my Marauder and Ranger also.

Previous owner of Mustang stated the Cilajet wiped on and off just like conventional liquid wax. Local Cilajet dealer wants $700 to $1400 to apply it - won't happen.

New slicks, wheel spacers and new rear shocks. New Supercharger belt and new tensioner. Still need a transmission and 3,500 stall converter.......

Might consider in the future. My go-to for a 10 minute job is Turtle Wax spray: https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-T-9-1-Step-Dry/dp/B0007TV6M0. My go-to for a several hour job is NXT Techwax: https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G12718-Generation-Tech-2-0-18/dp/B0002UQATS

That was the first thing that did with the receipt:beer:

New upper control arms, new endlinks, new brakes, painted rotors and calipers to match.

'Check Fuel Cap' and resulting MIL

Car still in a local shop. Threads concerning the recent issues in Shop Talk and Interior Electronics.

The 'Erratic Idle - Occasional Stalling' issue that started about 6 weeks ago seems to have been corrected with a new IAC valve installed. No codes - MIL thrown. Originally thought the problem was bad fuel as the issue started not long after a refuel.

Now, it's an ongoing issue with 'Check Fuel Cap' with codes thrown and MIL illuminated. Both the Fuel Vent Valve and Fuel Vent Solenoid have been replaced - issue keeps returning.

Local shop (I'm away from home) has now had the car 4 times, including the current visit. Car went to the local Ford dealer once before leaving home and they gave the car a clean bill of health, including the fuel in the tank at the time.

Dropped car off sunday night, shop unable to look at it yesterday due to being 'short staffed', 'first day back after the storm', etc. I'm ready to go home to survey my property for damage, along with a repaired car. Local roads are muddy so Marauder will get washed before putting it on the highway back home.

Take it to Mo's, what is he 3hours South? Get it fixed right. Wish Marty had a Mo's North shop.

Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid

Just drive it home and have someone competent work on it..

Spoke to the shop not long ago and they stated the Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid installed just last week had already failed - replacement on order. 'Competent Techs'? It's often a crap shoot.:(
