wheels in snow season

Has anybody here ever driving their polished marauder wheels in the Winter? If so are there any blurs or defects in the polished material from the salt? Or do they still look like new. Any feed back would be appreciated.

I wouldn't. The clear will get corrosion under it. By 16" steel wheels or buy some mustang beater wheels. Have to maintain 3-6% diameter difference in size front to back if you have traction control

wash it every day, skip driving it right after they salt the roads.... ive been driving them daily for about 10 years, but i dont drive em when its super nasty out.

These cars are almost impossible to drive in the snow stock. The 2nd year I had my 300A (without traction control) I could not get up a small hill after stopping because it just wanted to slip because of the right rear wheel torque. I ended up backing up and going another way home. I then bought snow tires and two spare wheels to mount the snow tires on. Before I installed the snow tires I found a cheap winter car and parked the Marauder in the winter. Since then the Marauder has never seen snow. I eventually purchased a 2003 Town Car which has traction control and put the snow tires I purchased on that car for the winter. That combination is a beast in the snow! I have gone down roads and pulled away from stops that other cars struggled with. As for your question about corrosion. The wheels WILL corrode even in light use and with cleaning. My Town Car wheels corroded enough that this year I had that set reconditioned because the cost for reconditioning was cheaper than finding a great used set. Good winter quality Marauder wheels can be purchased if you spend time looking for around $150 each. Or you can get a Mustang wheel set for $500 or under.

I bought my Marauder in June of 2003 and have driven it in the winter every year. I have a second set it Marauder wheels with Bridgestone Blizzak tires. It does better in the snow than most FWD cars.

Get some 16s from a grand marquis after 2002. The taller sidewall makes the ride more comfortable on pitted icy roads and potholes in the spring. Tyres are also less expensive than 18s. Some people say the narrower tread of the equivalent 16s (215/65/16) cuts through slush and snow better than wider treads.

They will corrode over time yes, I've seen some higher mile Marauders up here with clear coat corrosion on the wheels.

I used to run Ford Racing 17" black bullitts wrapped in Blizzak WS80's on my 03, I didn't want to go for the P71 look-a-like steelie vibe

I've got a 300A with traction control.

then you must have one of the weird A/B models, or a 2004.

Snow tires front and rear will make a world of difference in the snow. Before we did the snow tires (remembering Louisville in the steelies lol) I found the stock rear tires would push the car, but the front end went wherever it wanted, usually not in the direction I wanted to go.

If you were closer, I sell you the steelies as we no longer use the car in the Winter. I think they are still in the barn.

I have a set of 16" x 7" 'BBS' style wheels that came off my '95 Grand Marquis.
I was going to paint the center gloss black and polish the lip for winter rims.
Never got around to it before I sold my Marauder.

I'd sell the set of 4 for $375.

These don't properly fit a 03+ chassis due to the offset, they stick out past the fender by an inch

Put em on facebook marketplace a toyota minitruck guy will want them, not even kidding.

Oops!
My bad....I didn't think about the offset.
I never test fit them on my Marauder!
Sorry about any confusion.
Going on craigslist for now.
