Build Dates / VIN Sequences / Total Production #s

OK, I finally asked and got the details for my 2 MMs, thanks to RoyLPita (Brian):

2003 MM Blue (DPB) with LT Flint int., Build date 5/2/03 and IN service date of 7/21/03; VIN: last 6 = 700118
Build sequence number: 7485 of 7839.
Color sequence number: 278 of 327.

2004 MM Red (DTR) with Lt Flint int., Build date 6/15/04, In Service date of 7/6/04; VIN: last 6 = 693977.
Build sequence number: 3175 of 3213.
Color sequence number: 973 of 981.

Now I have to update all of my signage! It will be fun!

OK,.. since 2003 Marauder VINs are not sequential. Lets put the last 6 digits of our VIN and build date (if known) so we can kinda figure out 'where' we are in the build order.

here's mine:

637304 bulit 5 Sept 02

This idea was presented in another thead,.. how's this Chuck?

Production numbers for the Mercury Marauder:
2003 - 7839 (328 Blue, 417 Silver, rest black .. 7094)
2004 - 3213 (980 DTR, 997 Silver, 1236 Black)
Total production, 03 and 04 was 11,052

Black exterior. (As of June 2004):
1059 with charcoal interior, 842 have CD changers, 873 have heated seats.
147 with flint interior, 105 have CD changers, 100 have heated seats.
Dark Toreador Red exterior. (As of June 2004):
565 with charcoal interior, 457 have CD changers, 505 have heated seats.
398 with flint interior, 293 have CD changers, 270 have heated seats.
Silver Birch exterior. (As of June 2004):
525 with charcoal interior, 422 have CD changers, 439 have heated seats.
<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->448 with flint interior, 332 have CD changers, 304 have heated seats.
So according to these production #s, 2003 and 2004 are the most rare models, or the lowest production models, (I don't know which is right), and for colors, 2003 Blue, Silver, and then Black, 2004 DTR, Silver and then Black, is this correct?

So according to these production #s, 2003 and 2004 are the most rare models, or the lowest production models, (I don't know which is right),
2003 and 2004 are the ONLY production models. MMs were only made in those 2 years. In order of rarity they are Blue (327), DTR (980), Silver Birch (1,415) and Black (8,330). Total = 11,052.

I know the member who bought the first marauder sold is here, kirk

Im not sure if this is the first production marauder made.

While I do have the first 2003 Marauder sold, it was the 82nd regular production car built. I was told by someone who would know that Bob Tasca (famous east coast Ford dealer and racer) got the first regular production car built. Keep in mind that there were also about 25 pre-production cars built. Several of their owners are on this site. There is also the orginal SEMA car that was likely crushed. So there are several different "first" Marauders. It depends on what you're talking about.
