Sorry to hear ....

Hopefully no on was hurt Nd hopefully the Marauder can be repaired

damn sorry to hear. I just heard a 17 year old killed a guy I used to work with on Monday after he T boned him in the driver's door. Im all for raising the license age limit to 18 years old. With all the gadgets that come on cars and combined with cell phones its no wonder these kids get into wrecks all the time.

Not to mention even 4-cyl cars are getting pretty freakin' quick nowadays. Entry level cars are in the 14s in some cases, and even that's a bit much for a new driver.

Here's the kicker. Parents will never vote for taking longer to get DLs. They want freedom from driving kids everywhere so good luck on that one.

Was anyone injured? Did you get yourself checked out?

Did you talk the the body shop yet?

Get a copy of the police report.

Keep us posted.

Unfortunately I see it all the time out here, hopefully your car can be fixed, but more important is that you're here to tell us the story!

i dont blame the new drivers. part of the problem is they dont drive till they are 16. my dad let me drive on back roads when i was 13. my daughter was 10 when she learned to drive my 88 mustang 5 spd 4 :10 gears @16 she is a better driver than most 20 year olds.

In my opinion, part of the problem is in the "driver's education" programs. For the mosr part, they do not teach how to drive - no highway courtesy, no emergency techniques, no common sence. Yet,the parents abrogate their rexponsibilities to these programs because they are too involved in other thisngs, not the least of which is making a living. If children are the equation, the parents MUST be involved, and take responsibility for their offspring.

Seriously. My driver's education class in HS was a joke. We didn't even have the road carnage videos.

I remember my "drivers education", there wasn't any, and anyone middle-aged or older i'm sure would agree. But....everything today is bad, you know.

Sorry to hear this and see the damage to your Marauder. :(

I don't think that the problem is limited to "teenage drivers". Certainly many of them do not have the driving experience or stick time behind the wheel. However, the idiotic lane changes and such afflict all age groups. For many people, driving is a secondary activity and often takes a backseat to "whatever" else is on their mind at the time. This is why you see so many people wait until the last minute to take an interstate exit often crossing 2 lanes to get there. There's just not an awareness of what is going on around them.

Driver's Education classes on deals with the "mechanics" of driving. The anticipation and awareness aspects are learned. Kids that pay attention to their parents driving skills when they are young tend to pick up what they see .... the good and even the bad stuff. If they can recognize "the bad", they will become better drivers.
