    G D vibration!

Two things can be responsible for detectable vibration--input and sensitivity. We usually attack input and forget sensitivity. If you are convinced your rotating stuff is round and balanced, you may want to look at sensitivity (loose steering rack/shaft/column, suspension, instrument panel or...

    Alignment after Eibachs

Camber Adjustment Bolts The flags on the cam-bolts are there for initial factory setting only. They are brittle and easy to bend/break off with any sort of pry bar. Once the flags are gone, you have the full range of adjustment available.

    Suspension is "creeking and popping"

Jman, we need to point out that greasing the external steering stops only applies to 2002 and earlier cars. The newer cars have rack and pinion steering with no external stops.

Purpose of Front End Frame Brackets

Rayjay has it right. The plants eventually figured out how to get along without them. They have since been deleted.

    Soften the ride

John If you are thinking about moving the rear shocks inboard of the rails, I don't really recommend it. The shocks were moved outboard in 2003 to control a concern called "axle skate". With the earlier cars, if you hit the right series of bumps, the rear would step noticeably sideways.

    Soften the ride

The easiest (and free) way to soften the ride is to drop the tire pressure. Like everything else pressure is a compromise. Lower pressure will slightly decrease fuel mileage and tire life, lessen cornering grip and steering precision, and allow a leak to get you into trouble/danger quicker...

    MM shock absorbers

Shocks There is one other logical option for replacing Marauder shocks. Crown Vic police shocks are a perfect fit and have slightly stiffer valving. Strangely, you won't find the Motorcraft (Tokico) police shocks on the usual Ford ecommerce sites, but the Rock Auto website has them for about...

    Front End Alignment

The flag centers the cam bolt in the lateral adjustment slot. The normally welded multipiece structure that contributes most to camber problems has been replaced by the single large aluminum crossmember. The suspension attachment points on the large casting can be very accurately machined...

    Front End Alignment

The front lower arm (camber adjusting) cam bolt is not "welded on at the factory." It does have a manufacturing locator flag staked to its head. The flag is intentionally made from a weak, brittle material. A little creative prying should pop the flag right off. No additional "cam kit"...

    Unidentified body parts

They are minor aerodynamic fixes. They lower the drag coefficient a bit.

Will these 16" HPP Crown Vic wheels fit the MM?

The wheels pictured are highly NOT recommended. They will move the tires out almost 2 inches at each corner. Besides clearance issues, they will degrade steering and significantly increase ball joint, tie rod, and wheel bearing loads. These are durable vehicles. Things won't fail...

    Alignment and Tire Wear

Why in world would a tire manufacture want to specify which side of the tire faces out? It's a common practice with performance tires and falls into the same category as, "Why in the world would anyone put a higher numerical ratio axle in a car?" That higher axle ratio means worse fuel...

    Alignment and Tire Wear

You are correct! These cars, even with soft stock suspension, have amazing cornering grip. If your personal priority is improved wear and you don't mind a little more understeer plus some loss of lateral G capability, you can always dial out a bit of negative camber. It's worth noting that...

    4.10's installed

Let's go over the driveshaft issue one more time. Everything in the universe vibrates, including beer bottles and women. The frequency at which things naturally want to vibrate is mostly determined by their material, mass, size and shape. Ford limited the top speed of our cars to about 120...

    What is it?

If you mean the item welded to the bottom inboard side of the rail, between the radiator and the stabilizer bar, you can cut it off. It is a "stacking bracket" that was only intended for frame plant processing. If you look under a current production Panther, you will find that it is no longer...

Front upper control arm frame attachment

You can build a great steel suspension, and you can build a great aluminum suspension. Each material has advantages and disadvantages. Aluminum can save a lot of weight, and machined castings can be much more accurate than typical stamped and welded steel pieces. To get both light weight and...

Front upper control arm frame attachment

There was nothing functionally wrong with the aluminum braces. The new iron parts are cheaper, and, thanks to careful design work, not much heavier.
