Alum Front Susp, any known problems??

Dennis, If you have a Marauder with shifting alignment, the likely problem source is low clamp load at the front lower control arm bolt. The very thick aluminum crossmember structure requires a lot of force to collapse it enough to prevent the arm from sliding laterally in the camber...

    Sway Bar install

Any time you start jacking the car, don't forget to turn the air suspension switch in the trunk to off.

Does the Marauder need special Coolant?

No Marauders have come from the factory with Dex Cool (red) coolant. The earliest cars may have had traditional green. Later cars all have yellow Motorcraft Gold/Zerex G-05/BASF Glysantin. Fear not, Ford has tested this stuff for years. They have not tested every possible combination, so...

    Sway Bar Size/bushings/links

The rear links are conventional, but the front stock links have ball joints at both ends. That gives better response than anyone's aftermarket bushings. The front links also attach directly to the spindle, which makes the bar much more effective than it would be with conventional lower arm...

    Lowering.....

Sinister, I'm surprised. I thought all Eibach Pro-Kit springs were, as their name implies, progressive.

    Lowering.....

If you have 10 coils, cutting off one will increase your spring rate about 10%. This is directionally a good thing, because otherwise the lowered car will be hitting its jounce bumpers much more often. The down side is a harder ride, plus possibly some low speed pitch discomfort, plus more...

How to get a softer ride?

The air springs are actually quite soft. Your could use the even softer base Town Car parts, but without changing the front, that would accentuate low speed pitching--you've probably noticed that the faster you go, the better your Marauder rides. You can make these cars ride almost as well as...

    OFFSET :help:

With tolerances, clearances are tight inside and outside. Ever wonder why the upper arms droop in the middle? It's to give 16 inch wheels clearance in full turn/full rebound. That's not a situation you get into often, but it does happen.

    OFFSET :help:

The outside surface of your tires will have about 15 mm less clearance to your wheel openings. Depending on what tires you are using, you may or may not rub. If your combination clears, it doesn't necessarily mean it will work on every other Marauder. Tolerance stackups in this area are...

    Anyone Know what this is?

Your dealer does NOT need to order a nut. There is none! The sensor retainer is simply molded into the front cross car wiring tray. Just push the sensor up from below into the serrated hole. It will lock into place. To remove the sensor, you have to remove the wiring connector and screw the...

    Special Price for Eibach Springs....

I like Eibach, but the devil is in the details. I would be a bit cautious about mixing the Eibach's with a bigger rear bar. If you drive on terrible roads (Michigan), there is almost no substitute for wheel travel. Progressive rates are most of the almost. To accomodate it's big tires, the...

Can you tow with the Marauder?

Across flat Kansas, no problem. Even the Ozarks should be OK. Just don't try to climb the Rockies, at low speed, (high RPM/low air flow through the radiator), during the middle of a hot summer day.

    Revised Spark Plug

With the old design, stresses are concentrated on the very short gap between the head and the end of the plug thread. The new design spreads the same stresses over many more threads, allows more "stretch" in the plug, and gives a more reliable joint.

    Front Alignment and Tires

Rear center wear is classic overinflation. Front inside wear is too much toe out or, more likely, too much negative camber. When was your dealer's alignment equipment last calibrated?

    Front suspension creaking noises

Pop-squeek is a sound bad spot welds can make. Remove your luggage compartment mats, spare and jack. Have your significant other take you for a ride in the trunk. Now that Fords have glow-in-the-dark emergengy releases, it doesn't take complete trust, and the Marauder has a real four body...

Widened MM rear wheel and Drag radial

Just a word of caution--if you see only a quarter inch clearance to the shock tower statically, that clearance has to pretty well go away when the car rolls under hard cornering.

    New 'Rauder questions/problems

Robert Washburn, your car should not pull and it should not shake. Have the dealer check radial runout. Don't accept anything more than .040 inch. If it's a bit over, they should be able to fix it by reindexing the tire to the wheel. If it's significantly over, you have a bent wheel or bad tire.

    300A vs. 300B?

Don't worry about the traction control. Marauders have a much improved calibration (much like Mustangs). It even allows you to spin the tires a bit.
