Lowering.....

Just for some personnel info.

i've lowered mine by cutting the front springs 3/4 of a turn. the look is quite aggressive and the car sit 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 inches lower - no clearance issues. ).

Chuck did you do this yourself?
Does the spring and shock come out together ,coilover style?
From just crawling under the car you just basicly cut the "dead" coil off the top correct?

Thanks for posting this, BTW put your flame suit on I'm sure it's coming :D

ChuckB...
I can verify the NO, NO regarding torch mods to coil springs (see my previous post of 7/11).

Springs are ALL about TEMPER and heat used incorrectly will destroy them.

If you have 10 coils, cutting off one will increase your spring rate about 10%. This is directionally a good thing, because otherwise the lowered car will be hitting its jounce bumpers much more often. The down side is a harder ride, plus possibly some low speed pitch discomfort, plus more understeer. The Eibachs, with their progressive rates, have a distinct advantage. Over small bumps, they are soft. Over larger bumps, their rate goes up significantly to help keep you off the jounce bumpers.

Hey Todd....is the the pic of my car you are talking about? I am raising the rear end 1/2 inch to give it the rake look again. I agree mine is too low in the back end.

No...not at all. I was talking about the pics that I was sent by the Tech. Services at Eibach, which were posted in this thread

I thought it looked too "squatty" in the rear.

Here are the pics of mine before...after with No rear adjustment...and after with about a 1/2 inch adjustment in the rear. Actually, I kinda liked it with no rear adjustment...but the guys doing it/working with me MADE me lower it a little. I'm VERY happy with it now.
