    driver's seat belt buckle broken

Belt tongue won't insert all the way or lock. Saw something loose inside at the bottom, on button side, pushed it aside with trusty Swiss Army knife. Could then insert tongue and it seemed to lock securely. Driveable for the moment, but need to repair or replace. Edit: Turned out to be debris...

    ABS, brake lites illuminated.

Just to be clear - this module can fail and still not throw any codes at all? And after replacement, it cures this problem with its specific symptoms? Module Repair Pro Inc. says car can be driven without module. Other than lack of ABS, ANY other concerns?

    ABS, brake lites illuminated.

same problem, but intermittent & NO CODES 2004MM, 160K ABS & Brake lights off on cold start, but usually both come on after auto warms up. Sometimes - rarely - they go off again. Also - rarely - they turn off after slowly going over rough dirt road, pitching & rocking. Again, intermittent, but...

04MM. Differential or axle bearing noise?

Mechanic is meticulous - and he's been servicing the MM exclusively since it was out of warranty. Besides, axle was scored, but not chewed up. I'm sure he would have cleaned out the entire housing before buttoning up.

04MM. Differential or axle bearing noise?

Many thanks for all the feedback! Got the M back yesterday - turned out to be one bad bearing & axle (lightly scored). Clint expressed surprise that the noise wasn't louder, based on wear. Replaced both axle bearings with 1 new axle shaft kit. Close inspection of diff. showed no problems, so no...

04MM. Differential or axle bearing noise?

04 MM, 138,000 miles. Factory diff. gearing. Hearing the same brushing or thrumming sound from the rear that was mentioned in quite a few posts from the mid-2000's. Barely audible on most pavement. Have to run on really smooth payment to hear clearly. NOT tires - just changed to summer set...

Repeat Check Engine lights, P1235 & P0172 codes

Thank you for your replies. Checked work orders: brand new generic fuel filter on 11/22, multiple CEL's & resets, replaced with brand new Motorcraft on 12/22. Advanced diagnostic gear hooked up to fuel system at that time; no problems indicated. No CEL from then until Monday, 1/30. Read P1235...

Repeat Check Engine lights, P1235 & P0172 codes

All stock 2004 MM. No noticeable performance hit at all. Got first light +/- 6 weeks ago. Codes were P0172 (lean indicator bank 2?) and P1235 (full pump driver circuit out of range). Reset, went a few days and came on again. Very trusted mechanic - Pikes Peak champ Clint Vahsholtz, total Ford...

Free used BFG KDWS, front & rear

Not surprised at no interest even after so many views. Just a hopeful thought that someone else could get some use. Will take them for disposal today.

Free used BFG KDWS, front & rear

I was about to dispose of these (1 ea. 235 & 255) since I no longer run the BFGs. Kept them around as 'emergency' spares when I did. Not suggesting anyone run these as anything other than a temporary replacement for those times when new OEM's are unavailable. Thought they might help if you're...

    Heated Seat Troubleshooting

replaced element, module OK, still no heat - wire harness problem? Testing indicated heating element 'open circuit', which was confirmed after the element was removed from the seat. New element was checked for continuity before installation. Still no heat. Voltages presenting to the plug are...

    Heated Seat Troubleshooting

replaced grid; still almost no heat Had mechanic test driver's seat heater grid continuity - found 'open circuit' indicating a bad grid. I believe he also checked voltage re. the previous post. He said the passenger seat heater was working, though it didn't feel warm to me. Had grid replaced...

    Heated Seat Troubleshooting

A: I checked that fuse as well as the two related fuses (for lights in the switch and the control module) in the box next to the brake pedal. All are OK. B: If only one seat didn't work, I might suspect a bad grid. But both seats went out, and there has been no one sitting on the passenger side...

    Heated Seat Troubleshooting

I know it's an old thread, but I'm just now having the identical problem. Neither seat heats at all. Switches light up, all fuses OK. Did anyone replace the module(s), and with what result? Or was there another solution? BTW, does each front seat have it's own module, or just one controlling...

    Replacement tires?

What about sticking to one brand/style all around? It's long been "common knowledge", or at least common tire dealer advice, to ALWAYS put the same brand/style/model tire on all 4 wheels, and performance cars may vary from that only in running larger rears (but still same brand/style/model)...

Air Susp problems. How to diagnose?

My symptoms: PS seemed to die coming up to a stop light. (I thought the engine had stalled at first!) Drove home with heavy, unpowered steering. Took a sharp (90 degree +) left into my neighborhood, and PS came back instantly and 100%. PS was OK until service appointment 2 days later...

Air Susp problems. How to diagnose?

There is also an electronic control module (i.e., small computer) that manages both the air ride suspension and (strangely enough) the variable assist power steering. It's way up under the dash - strictly a dealer service item I think. It's a $300+ part if out of warranty. They can hook it up...
