Mechanic is meticulous - and he's been servicing the MM exclusively since it was out of warranty. Besides, axle was scored, but not chewed up. I'm sure he would have cleaned out the entire housing before buttoning up.

A: I checked that fuse as well as the two related fuses (for lights in the switch and the control module) in the box next to the brake pedal. All are OK. B: If only one seat didn't work, I might suspect a bad grid. But both seats went out, and there has been no one sitting on the passenger side...

What about sticking to one brand/style all around? It's long been "common knowledge", or at least common tire dealer advice, to ALWAYS put the same brand/style/model tire on all 4 wheels, and performance cars may vary from that only in running larger rears (but still same brand/style/model)...

There is also an electronic control module (i.e., small computer) that manages both the air ride suspension and (strangely enough) the variable assist power steering. It's way up under the dash - strictly a dealer service item I think. It's a $300+ part if out of warranty. They can hook it up...
