255/50/18 Nitto 420S for front -- Too Big to fit?

Hey guys...I've been researching this topic for a while now, and seeing that many members choose to use the same size tires front and back, I ended up buying some Nitto 420S tires for my Marauder. I went with 255/55/18 in rear, and 255/50 for the front. Local garage goes to put them on and says they are too big to fit, and the fenders will tear out the sidewalls the first bump I hit.

Anyone have any experience with this? Otherwise I guess, I've got some tires for sale that nobody here will want.

255/50/18's will work. You cant go any bigger than this.

I have 265/50/18's thats bigger in a nt555 OOOOPS THATS REARS 245/50 FRONTS

I installed the exact same tires and sizes last week. No problem whatsoever.

Same sizes in Toyo Proxies for a year, no problems. Find another tire shop.

I went with Nitto 420S in 235/50/18 for the front and Im running the 420S in 255/55/18 on the rears.

If you or a previous owner did not lower front ride height you should be fine. You can check easy enough with a measure tape.
