5years old-ish, what have you had to replace?

I am curious. I am also driven by a desire to pre-order parts because of the delay time to get parts shipped here...so here goes.

What parts have you had to replace/fix on your daily driver marauders. Obviously there are several fixes that have happened to many racing rauders too.

For me...hmm
Belt tensioner and belt.
head light lamps
head light assemblys (due to excessive sand etching from yuma sand)
lighting control module (under warranty)
carrier bearings in the differential (probably due to a bad install of the 4.10's, also under warranty :D)
wiper blades
oil and air filters
oil
tires, on second set now (total miles under 40000)
looks like I will need a new fan...more to follow

another way to ask this question is:
now that the girl is around 40k miles, what are the next set of items that I can expect to fail?
My guesses are to buy and have ready:
battery
fog lamps
coolant hoses
shocks

anything else?

be good!

air suspension pump seems to go on a lot of these marauders around 50,000 from what I have seen on the site and from personal experience

Maybe less of a problem in AZ, but wiper motor would be a good one (see keyword: wacky wipers)

Shocks should last you longer than 40k mi. These are the same monotube construction as 02-05 Aviator, 06-current Explorer and 07-current Expedition/Navigator. Not saying there are never problems, but it is a pretty robust OE design.

Wiper control module on the wiper motor
Belt tensioner and belt
Tag light wiring harness (plug has melted twice)
PCV valve
Rear shocks
^All replaced because they went bad, not bad for daily driven and 106k miles.

I've replaced other things just to upgrade like tires, brakes, spark plugs, etc etc.

I had to replace my Intake after just the first few months of ownership.

:D

KillJoy

1 blown motor
Wiper motor
numerous sets of tires
drivers side power seat button
drivers side window controls
drivers side fog light (KO'd by a racoon at 65mph)
the radio

Other than that not much. SHe has about 84k on the clock now.

I am now at 78K and just a month under 4 years of ownership and I have had the Marauder since new with 7 miles on the odo.

What I have had to replace:

3 Shocks (2 right rear, 1 left rear): leaking
Solonoid in trans: replaced under warranty
headlight switch: burnt out bulb/ ebay for 10.00
EATC: blowing out floor and defrost only/ ebay for 35.00
Fan control speed switch: dealership for 207.00
Volt meter: replaced under warranty
Battery: 112.00
Tires: on my 3rd set of fronts and 4th set of rears
Oil filters and oil goes with out saying...

What I have replaced because I wanted to:

MM airbox and ziptube with JLT CAI/RAI
Headlights, driving lights and corner lights all with Silver stars
Replaced rear dealer LP frame with Marauder Frame
Replaced cromed valve air caps with Locking Godshead logo caps from Wes
Grille emblem
Tune/Lidio
Rear tires from oem to Nitto 255/55/18's
rear tail lights and reverse lights to S-55 Treatment
Spoiler
Tint
Remote start alarm
and filled in that hole behind the bumper with the progard
also filled in the rear bumper with SS inserts

Next to replace:

OEM Marauder Tips with Megs 4" Delete Tips
Upper intake manifold with Triology Blower!!

I bought mine at 40k in June of 2006, now I have 75k and have had a grounding issue.

So far on my '04 with 82,000 miles, I'm on my 3rd set of rear tires and will soon need a third set of front tires, 6th synthetic oil change and changed the serpinetine belt once. Pretty problem free so far. Oh, my adjustable pedals need replacement. There's a thread giving good advice for that common problem.

ah yes... the adjustable pedals.... mine don't work either, but they are where I want them so not too worried about that right now

five years & 68K

I have had lots of electrical stuff go bad.
LCM, 2 multifunction switches, seat heater switches, 3doorlock actuators,
window regulator, air ride compressor and ride height sensor, wiper motor, fog lamp sockets.
I have a Ford reman long block @35K & a rebuilt trans & rear shocks
I have burned up four sets of BFGs' and three sets of brakes & rotors.
I dont drive with stock tires in winter, so the OEMs see about eight months use.

68k on my 03 300a
1. axles and bearings-60k
2.engine assy-53k
3.belt&tensioner-55k

needs: repaint(august02 car),headlamp assy's, rear bumper wavy

60K on 300A - bad axles at 10K, LCM at 30K, 3d set of tires and many oil changes. What does it need? Probably a change of shocks, and new set of pads/rotors and definitely a paint job.

I am about due for new brakes... They are getting low and vibrate on hard stops or hot days when they warm up

After four years and 61k miles I've had to replace one coil.

I'm on my second set of tires. Originals lasted until 35k.

Replaced?

After 6 years and 46,000 miles only 1 set of tires. Normal oil and other fluids.

Ford on the other hand has re-painted the car and fixed the wipers, lights 3 X :)

Thanks Ford

I would start with maintenance like brake, trans, and coolant flushes.

As for stuff that my MM had replaced, here goes:
trans O/H'd at 8k w/PCM replacement
rear brakes and rotors at 9k
front brakes at 15k with brake fluid flush (replaced with takeoff pads that have 19k on them)
3rd brake light bulbs
guage pod bulbs
wiring repair to turn signal circuit
IAC valve replacement
all four speakers
rear shocks
2 master window switches and 2 bezels
left side door lock actuators
driver door lock switch with service parts replacement
movable pedal assys
LCM
steering wheel
console door and bin
right headlamp assy
both front mirrors and switch
a/c control head, blower motor, and controller
upper and lower front control arms
2 evap emissions cannisters, 4 purge solenoids and one gas cap
rear applique
driver seat cushion cover
all 4 rotors (replaced with takeoffs) Have CVPI pads to install in the future
left head before my extended coverage expires.

With 54k, I went through a few sets of tires in different sizes. I'm on my 3rd pair of fronts and 5th pair of rears. (sizes explained below)

front 1: 235/50-18 stock. front 2: 225/60-18 used Conti's front 3: 235/50-18 stock used but near new.
rear 1: 245/55-18 stock. rear 2: 245/55-18 used stock. rear 3: 225/60-18 used Pirellis. rear 4: 255/55-18 BFG used. rear 5: 295/45-18 Hankooks used but near new.
