December 26, 2002 I headed off to Florida to pick up my new Marauder. Got to the dealership too late to close the deal but I did get to test drive it, actually picked it up Dec 27.

2010 - 2002 = 8 years. ;) Congrats on your milestone and 8th Anniversary.

Glad to have you and your continued support and friendship on the site. The "old guard" is what helps to make this the best place for a Marauder enthusiast to visit. Thanks!!

Great anniversary there Brian!!---curious, but how come to Fla...wasn't any in Tenn back then when you were looking????

Interesting. Why did you have to go so far to buy one? Better price?

Our local Mercury dealer got in very few, but they always seemed to have at least one in stock at all times
during the production runs. They would sit on the new car lot for 4 to 6 months before being sold.

All the local dealers were trying to be ripoff artists. Charging full sticker plus $5-10k for a "premium" vehicle. I found a dealer in Florida that sold me a brand spanking new one, fully optioned (CD changer and trunk organizer) for $27k vs the $45k the local idiots wanted.

WOW! That tells it all---even 2K better than my deal Brian---good show!

thats because they where just coming out then, they didnt realize how poor these cars were going to sell,i got mine sept. 2004 and they wanted them off the lots by then and you got much better deals then.

Happy anniversary Brian hope you have many more and Keep her forever. You are a great asset to this community.

I've had mine a little over 7 years and that is the longest I have ever kept a car!!!:bandit:

Heck, I've never even paid one off...always seemed to trade 'em before they were paid for!!!

I have not found anything that I would like to replace it with yet....Mustangs are nice but too expensive and way too small!!:argue:

I guess I'll just keep my Marauder forever.......I have never liked a car as much as this one!!

It's a shame the "driver stereotype" is changing in the direction it is and parts are becoming scarce!!!:(

our cars are really looking out dated with the designs of cars today ,i dread the day we have to drive front wheel drive cars that look like something you drive on the moon. L.o.l.

I disagree, our cars look nice, the new stuff looks like crap.
