One year only 1958 Super Marauder tri power intake, complete with carbs and iconic air breather. It's been on eBay for awhile, asking $10,000. Recalling only 100 cars were built with the Super Marauder motor and an unknown number of pieces (kits) were sold over the counter. Thinking several here have been following this sale.

Coolest looking OEM air intake EVER!
But....I'm thinking that the seller has a VERY, VERY limited audience based on the VERY few '58 Super Marauders that might be surviving.
Anyone building a clone could spend that kind of money on a CNC/fab project that would truly be one-of-a-kind!

The 1958 Super Marauder had 400 H.P.! That is something! According to the article below:

"No car in the 1950s made more horsepower – none of the first-gen Hemis (peaked at 390hp), the 3×2 Caddy (345hp), supercharged Ford 312 (300hp, 340 in NASCAR trim), fuelie Chevys (290hp in Corvette), Impala 3×2 348 (315hp), or J-2 Olds (312hp). All those proud and renowned names are second place or lower. Alone at the summit of Mount Horsepower in the 1950s was the M-E-L (Mercury, Edsel, Lincoln) 3×2 430"

“An interesting sidelight is the fact that the unusually good-looking air cleaner and fuel pump casing were designed by Lynn Wineland of Motor Life companion publication, Rod and Custom.”

Really makes me appreciate the Marauder heritage. This is awesome! Check out the pic!

I doubt they will get anywhere near that kind of money. Not only have similar items sold for less (albeit infrequently), but someone is reproducing these now.

400 HP .... back in 1958, must have seemed unreal!
Imagine if you were a kid at a gas station when a Super Marauder owner popped the hood to check the oil!!

:awe: .....

Back then kids knew what they were looking at, not so much today.
Ain't that the truth!
Most kids have NO clue as to how a car, let alone an internal combustion engine, works!
But they sure know how an iPhone works.....SMH.
