Sure it wasn't the elusive "Type R" accura??? Seems as though every ricer has some manner of "Type R" on their ****box these days. Glad you smoked him!! Mine is brand new, and bone stock...I still love it! Even after driving Kenny Brown 1X, and riding in Kenny Brown #8. Love the stories!

What does the "R" stand for Rice??

While a lot of that ricer crap is really retarded, a lot of it is made right here in the USA. Believe it or not, those ricers are doing their part to help keep the economy rolling, and I respect them for that. I just wish they would wake up, smell the Folgers, and get some automotive sense knocked into them.

It's really ironic that you should use Folgers in your expression. I wanted to see if it was an American company so I checked on the net. It is an American company but wouldn't it have been funny if it wasn't?

Anyway, what I found was still sadly ironic.

Ricers are just a natural part of the automotive cycle, unfortunately. While youngsters were tripping to the airbrushed carpeted disco vans of the 70s, old folk were lamenting the cherished big engined muscle car. While youngsters were tripping on the small body big engine muscle-cars of the 60s, old folks were lamenting their cherished chopped/frenched/whatever'ed 40s and 50s coupes. While the youngsters were tripping on their hot-rodded 40s and 50s coupes, etc.etc.etc.etc...

It's just a cycle... the new generation will always be involved in an aspect of the automotive culture that leaves the previous generation shaking their heads. It's inevitable. It's always the same seed, though... the young generation looks for a cheap way to be distinctive, as the previous 'hot stuff' becomes too $$ to be accessible. So today's 'wave' is the cheapo import ride, with the left-over $$ going towards customization.

Nothing we can do about it. Myself, I just accept my place in this chain of life as being part of that generation that goes "WTF???" every time they hear the coffee-can exhaust system and do my part to ridicule them as I have been sociologically programmed. ;)

... and I bask in the smug happiness of knowing that they too will be faced with the next generation's attempt at individualism in the automotive realm! One can only wonder how awful THAT will be!! :)

As long as Hitchhiker didn't have more than 10 mph or so on him when he hit it, the little ****box should have been able to accelerate to about the same speed in 8 or so lengths. It's kind of telling that he wouldn't give you a shot at a real 'heads up' match - i think he went home and cried to his momma. BTW, I have a couple of friends who have built somw reasonably quick and impressive little rice rockets, and if you use common sense instead of neon & potato-cannon exhaust tips, you can build a pretty quick little car. You just can't fix what's really broken (FWD-who thought that was a good idea for drag racing, where weight transfer is everything?) And I just can't keep a straight face when I hear them call a 2.2L 4 cylinder a 'big block' :shake: :bs:

Dan, I actually had no idea Folgers was American or not. However, it is my brand of coffee that I drink, so I mentioned it.

I have two things to say about this story:

#1. Nice win HH.

#2. Jim, I'm not trying to talk down to you, but 90 MPH is MORE than fast enough for someone like you since you only have at most one year of daily driving experience. Trust me on this buddy. No offence intended. I know you to be quite mature for your age, and you really amaze me how staight your head is on for a teenager, but when it comes to driving, experience is a lot. Please don't forget that. Sorry to sound like your parent, but it needs to be said. Peace.
