I needed new shocks since the car is 18 years old and 1 of them was leaking. I guess I will get used to it riding harsh. I got the Monroe Shocks, there best brand so to speak, I still have the box in the garage so I will update later.

That's the brand I had installed, Monroe Super or Severe Duty...yellow in color.

I think that's your problem. I bought those exact same shocks and realized right away they were too soft. I sold them on Craigslist and bought KYB 555603 shocks. Rock Auto has them for $55.79 each. I knew tight away when i removed the Monroe shocks and installed the KYB's. I could hardly push the KYB shock in to get it installed whereas the Monroe's pushed in rather easily.

If you bought rear shocks for a Crown Vic or Grand Marquis, they are a lot softer than the Marauder shock. I made this mistake.

Did you even read the first post? His complaint was a harsh ride, not soft.

Agree. But for what they are I couldn’t complain. I mean they are listed as severe duty so..

My only issue was they didn’t agree with the front coils that I cut 14 years ago. They started off fine but the more she settled (quite low) the more hard and sloppy they got. Not the shocks fault, just they owner who decided enough was enough with the money pit that I basically repurchased twice.

The Monroe Shocks I got were the 5993 shocks, they are the OE Shocks, and as others have said I did here the air ride pump up last night, only for a few seconds My issue is when I go over bumps I really feel it, Maybe I just need to drive the car some more and see what happens. I had to replace the rear shocks since 1 of them leaked out like crazy when I pulled into my driveway.

I was always vocal about the harsh ride of my new Marauder, and you can search here and see how I originally fixed it. Fast forward to 2022 and on my 6th Marauder DD, I opted to put the coilover conversion from ADTR on the car with new Metco control arms and watts link. The best part of the coilover setup is the Ridetech adjustable shocks on all 4 corners! Now it rides *exactly* how I want it to. Expensive? What is the cost of comfort? Sorta like projector headlights, what is the price of hitting a deer?

I couldn't agree more, on both. Panther Lights posted a video I sent him where I flashed my brights on a country road at night and a deer clearly ran off.

As far as shock selection for Marauders, I personally think ALL the standard aftermarket stuff sucks. After trying a couple of them with dissatisfaction, I coughed up the coin and bought Ridetechs. They are soooo much better and have lifetime warranty thru Fox Racing. But brand of shock is probably moot for the OP at this time.

100% this. All of the aftermarket shock replacements are bottom barrel cheap crap. Bilstein was never interested in offering a 03+ panther shock but they make an offering for the -02 cars, simply because it cross references with a ton of various Fords going back to the 50's. I'd be a bit iffy with how well the ridetechs would hold up through years of salt but I guess enough people are on coilovers these days, my car hasn't seen a winter in well over a decade.

Hope that means you're enjoying the lights I slapped together for that car , I haven't forgotten about the spare wheel lock keys I've just been a bit busy/distracted
