Try Autotrader or one of those type sites. When I was looking there were always a few out on the left coast. You may need to do some long distance driving though.
@ Mr. Man: Yeah, for the right car I'd even be down to travel into neighboring states (AZ, NV).
@gd: yeah that is high. Are you in the market as well?
@dohc: wow, that thing looks beastly. I saw it on autotrader but passed over it for some reason. Obviously I needed to read the description...my only worry with that car is the extensive mods...I mean, am I going to be paying BMW prices for my Mercury parts?
Me, not in the market now. Bought a SB 04 ~18 months ago. Sold it in October and bought my current DPB. The SB came from San Jose, the DPB came from Detroit.
I spent a lot of time looking on the east coast for a clean low milage(under 50000) car with no issues and no paint damage and found that the cars under 14 or 15 thousand either had milage over 80000 or other issues. All the clean no issue cars I saw with milage under 50000 were in the 15 thousand or higher area. From my experience if you want a clean low milage car you are going to have to pay. Most sellers know what they have. A 7000 mile 04 sold in 2 days on long island fo$20,000 and there was a waiting line.Good luck in the search
Mike
