All -

I became interested in getting a Marauder in '05, learned a lot from visiting these forums, joined in January, and yesterday - bought one. Will be picking it up on Monday.

It's the DTR from Connecticut that showed up on eBay for a while with a photo of fast-eddieeeeee's car on a racetrack.

Car, for those who are curious, does have a Reinhart tune & spark plugs, thermostat to keep temp at 185, everything else stock. 25000 miles. Always garaged. Very pretty.

Me: 55 years next month, married, kids; the car I am getting out of is a 1993 Taurus SHO with a cracked windshield and body parts held on by duct tape, so I am looking forward to my new ride.

My other vehicles are bicycles. Current top speed 53 mhp. Willing to go faster if I can find a steeper mountain.

David A. Mark (Thanks, Rider90 for reminder).

...Or if you can get your wife to ride the bike while you tow her in your new Marauder. I'm sure you'll get 'er breaking tripple digits then! :burnout:

Welcome and how funny is this I got out of a 94 Taurus SHO when I got in my Marauder!!! Enjoy it will make you wonder why you waited so long like myself to get one.

David,

Congrats ! I am sure you will like the MM! I've met very few people who haven't.

Where "West of Boston"? I am originally from Mass. Plymouth to be exact!

Welcome to another SHO-graduate!

I had a '91 and then a '95 before buying the Marauder.

The SHO's were great in their day, but it's been 17 years since they were developed... I think you'll really enjoy the updates of a tuned Marauder.

Red? I thought they were all black? :)

AzM - Maynard, MA is a non-famous old mill town just west of Concord. I've seen a black Marauder in town a few times (what first piqued my interest), so now there will be two. I suppose we will have to form our own club.

black - Wife is enough of a leadfoot that she can drive the Marauder and I'll draft behind on the bicycle.

I know where Maynard is... both my children were born at the hospital in Concord, Ma. and I served about 6 years at Fort Devens back in the early 80s.

So.. welcome to the MM.Net homey !

:D

Jim - I appreciate your welcome, given that this was the DTR you were looking at on eBay. Did you end up buying a Blue from up this way? I was looking at one, but someone else got it.

Keeping the bike: >50 on a bicycle gives me the same tunnel vision and PAY ATTENTION DAMMIT that >110 in a car does (without the risk of a ticket).

Welcome David. You will love the Marauder, especially a DTR Marauder. Welcome to the club. The last time I tried to ride my age on a bike I ate a LOT of dirt. Wish I had it on tape. My last bike ride. I was paying attention, too. Bike lost its nerve. Good luck. Contact the Wraskally Wabbit on Cape Cod for local members and group. She knows it all and then some. Dennis:beer:
