300A or 300B? What color interior? I will add it when you let me know.

Adam have you looked over at MMC.com? They have a list of 03-04 vins. While there is no production number you may be able to generalize where they fit. Also craigslist and those other sites, same thing.:)

wow cmalo has #1???. hi takedown your 10 cars behind me:beer:. now if i can find the car in front or behind me that would be way cool

Can you link me? I do not see it...unless I'm blind. I assume you mean MCM.com?
His profile page says #27 March 12 2002.
Over at Motor City Marauders there was question as to whether or not his was first, with such an early build date the thinking was that this car "is" the first Marauder but that it was a press car, and that after it made its rounds, it was shipped back, refurbished, and then sold 'new'. I have no idea what Ford actually ranks him but with that build date, I have to believe that car is the first one technically built.

Think about it. If he was #27 (as in the 27th actual car to roll off of STAP) he would have to be built AFTER May 27th.

#30 is one of those preproduction cars, so I guess cmalo technically probably IS #27. That's one of those Marauder Mysteries I haven't quite solved yet, but it's in the back of my skull to figure out what the rule is.

Maybe a call to Ford is in order.

I'll have to check that out. I completely forgot about that site.

I guess when it comes to cmalo and the other preproduction cars, I will probably just put them on the list wherever FORD says they're supposed to be. I.E. if Ford says they belong in a different place further down the list, so be it. Then I can just mark in another column that the car was likely preproduction.

Idunno. Haven't decided yet...

The Oldest Marauder in the Club

All,

My son now owns the oldest Marauder in the club. I sold it to him in 2006 or so (working from memory here). It's in my garage as I write this and is still in beautiful condition. - never been hit or abused (except for a few 1/4 mile passes) . He does have a certificate from Ford - which I will get a copy of and post here. I'll get some current pictures as well.

The VIN and build date are listed below from the club's spreadsheet.

2MEHM75V73X600045, 2003, 300A, BLK, DC1/7093, 3/12/2002, cmalo

As you can see, the VIN ends in 60045. There was some question early on whether the VINs were sequential. I think it's been found they are. When I bought the car (in CY 2004 I think) I began to notice things like the Red 4PP tags on the frame (he still has those). Also - they early cars have different exhaust baffles and some other small differences. Ford Motor Company certified it as the real McCoy. We have the history of the car from Roy L. Pita and Carfax. Ford owned the car for the first 5,990 miles then sold it. It's a family keeper.

I attached a few documents. 1 is a picture of me driving the car at Milan dragway (Milan, Michigan), the others are summaries of information I have on file.

Chuck,
Thanks for chiming in on this. I am going to leave your car at #1 of all '03-'04 Marauders produced, and leave a link in my spreadsheet that goes back to your post in this thread.

Very cool info, by the way! Glad to hear that the car is still in the family.
