Anybody know where the "Build Sheet" is hidden on the Marauder??

If you are not familar with the term the build sheet is usually a single page that was used to show which parts to install as the car rolled down the assembly line .. On older cars (Pre 70's) it's priceless to truly document a cars authenticity... on a newer car it is not as critical, especially on car with only two options, but I'd like to have it anyway... On my 01 Cobra it was taped up behind the rear bumper fascia and the actual steel bumper...
 
Dunno, haven't looked for it yet... Someone go find theirs so I don't have to... :)
 
On 2 of my 63's it was taped to the backside of the rear seat.
 
I know on my 79 Lincoln there was one under the driver seat and one under the insulation on the dash. If it isn't anywhere in any of the seats, then 10 to 1 says it's somewhere in the dash. A real pain for one of these cars...
 
Nope, not yet. As far as I know, it's NOT in any of the seats... Anyone wanna tear their dash down to look? :D LOL, didn't think so...
 
I read on another site that someone found one in an '03 CV under the carpet on the passenger side. odd place, and what he was doing taking up the carpet I can't imagine :lol:
 
I have found on new vehicles they are left on dash or console when delivered to dealer. (My Expedition was just laying on console when I looked at it, but I bought it the first day it hit the dealer and kept it) I asked my dealer for mine but they told me that they throw them out as soon as they recieve the car. There is supposedly no reason to keep them. As far as another build sheet buried in the car- I have no idea
 
Now that you mention that Tom, I remember when I was test driving the first one I ever test drove, there was a pack of 2 papers on the passenger side (Dad was driving, I was riding, dealer in the back stinkin' up the place.). One was a build sheet and the other was a check list for the dealer to go over to make sure the car got all the correct Marauder parts. Guess they were worried about some of the 'Nadian's not bothering to look at build sheets as the car rolled down the line. I still say there has got to be one in the car somewhere though...
 
I think todays vehicles are so uniform that build sheets are obsolete as far as collector value. Looking at my LS6 Chevelle build sheet, you have to remember you had a choice of approximately 5 different engine options, 4 transmission options and at least 4-5 different rear end combos available that year. In addition radio, suspension and different trim combo's would also have a bearing on current value as well as proof of authenticity. Today, many new autos (like our MM) come one way only. So nobody really cares about build sheets. It is what it is-

I agree, and said as much in my post that started the thread..the only thing a Build sheet gives you now is the correct codes for all the sub assemblies...and that might be helpful later...
 
I stand corrected Merc- It must be my extremely short attention span. After the 5th post I forget what the first one mentions. I agree, it would still be nice to have one-I just wish the dealer didnt toss them as I doubt I will start ripping the car up to find one
