CAR Motorsports Gods Head Emblem Shipment Update

I've asked about this before, I'm wondering if some of the rear emblems were bent in different places then others, with my bend I can not place the emblem with the neck straight up and down. Pictures please, Marauder2005, Thanks.
Based on what I've seen on ebay the seller thought that is the way they were supposed to be.
I mounted mine straight up, the bend doesn't conform.
I have a spoiler, so the gap is not noticeable.

I went in the drive way to look at mine. ^^^This is the same in my case

as well. There is a LITTLE gap, but hardly if at all noticable. I did not even

notice it until I read Jims post. Sorry I gotta buy a Digi camera.

Everyone can anticipate a little gap area since the Gods Head Emblems were patterned after the plastic OEM Emblem which has slight gaping as well. We also used an aluminum mock up of the trunk lid to insure a fit equal to or beyond that of the OEM emblem. There should be no differences between the trunk emblems as to orientation, but if you think you have a problem or issue, please call us as soon as possible to discuss you issue. We will always strive to meet your expectations for a high quality result.

Thank you,

Rich

I will go out today and mock-up what I have and take some pics. We can go from there. Stay tuned. By the way.... Thanks Rich!

There's also the double sided tape. There will be a gap at least the thickness of the tape. This was true on the OEM emblem as well.

This is it

I used double sided tape to hold on temporarily for the photo. The angle is rather dramatic in my opinion. Any comments?

Temp - Rear Perm - Front

Rich/Alen, are there others without such a dramatic angle?

Thats the same way mine will sit, I already have the grill emblem and the steering wheel emblem installed and they are fabulous. I would like for the three to be the same. Thanks

I put mine on the trunk in more of a angle to match the front and the steering wheel, the curve of the emblem did not match the trunk lid.I heated the emblem and tape with a blow drier and forced it down onto the trunk lid.I was not aware the bend to the rear emblem would place it in such a angle till after I installed the front and steering wheel emblem with the neck fairly straight up.It looked better after heating it and forcing the tape to stick where the curve did not match.

I know to each his own but I like the "FLYING" look with the hat more parelled to the horizon and have mounted all of mine that way. The quality of the emblems is first rate, obviously custom and way beyond the concept of the originals. I couldn't be happier. Thanks to CAR Motorsports. Dennis:beer:

With out a doubt, these emblems are first rate, thats not what we are debating about, but as you say,"to each his own", I would prefer if the angle was more toward the straight up and down look. I haven't contacted Rich yet, I'm feeling my way around this Thread to see where it goes. :help:

I feel the same way. No doubt about exceptional quality, service and overall personality. Because this is a personal matter, all my messages are now PM's to CAR.

My intent is NEVER to say anything bad about anyone on this site. I feel each business and individual here are really great. If I ever come off as being negative, shame on me, as it is not my intention. I was trying to get others input on this matter, and seem to have found that some rear badges have been bent differently than others ???

I was, and still am behind CAR Motorsports all the way.

I agree about the angle and will be contacting Rich today.

Has anyone got an answer to the bend of the rear badge question? I am looking to put mine on to match the seats, without the neck at an angle. Is there a fix to this?

I have suspended installation, as I don't like the neck angled....

Any suggestions???

Take a rubber mallet to it... seriously.

I just got around to taking off my old center cap modified rear badge for the CMS badge. I found that if I placed the badge to fit like it was bent, the little guy's gaze was more than a little catawampus also.

I wrapped the badge in a cotton towel and whacked it a couple of times to flatten it out a bit and then started contouring it the way I wanted it over an edge. The mallet didn't mar the finish through the towel at all. The piece would up being sturdy enough to take some abuse and thin enough to bend the way I wanted it to go.

Now it's orientated more like Dragcity's avatar. The neck on the badge isn't quite as thick as the traditional image so I think this screws up perception a little too. I'll try and get a pick tomorrow.

I love this badge!

Thats exactlly how i want mine. I havent installed mine yet, because of this. I didnt want to mess up the rear. But, now i can modify. Thanks!

Dave

Excellent, JD. That's how I want mine to look. Hopefully Alan and Rich will make it so. Shipping it back on Monday.

Thanks, I also moved it up about an inch where the old badge sat to center it more vertically on the trunk lip. Just enough to cover the existing holes with the tape.

The guys at CMS shouldn't have any problem re-pressing the curve on these. Good deal they are taking care of those who have issues with theirs. It only took me about 15 minutes of "persuasion" to fit it with the mallet to my liking.

must agree it's off a tad. If HwyCruiser fixed his maybe I should give it a whirl too!

Oh boy, I just had a vision of someone hammering the bjs out of the emblem after it was already installed on the trunk.

So, here's my disclaimer: Don't try this unless you're confident of your skills and are willing to screw something up. Do all work in a safe manner. Do any adjustments to the emblem prior to installing on the trunk and test fit until you are happy with it. Once it's stuck on, just be happy.

OK, I feel better.
