We would like to go if this Wuhan thing lets up. Ms. D got her shots and I'll get them before not to long. Just can't any clarification from the gov't as when we can meet up with peeps and not worry about all the dopey rules.

Here is the link^^^^^. Follow the directions for the Gate-and-GO. Don't forget to pick your class and the club name.

Yes, we can only hope for the best. Jack and I are on lists for the shots, but Maryland not so hot with organizing.............

I doubt I will make it. Here in MA we have improved to only 95% of the eligible people unable to get their vaccines. At that rate I may get my first shot by late June.

I was just thinking about carlisle, count me in on that. It'll be my first time out there so If some experienced members can chime in on how carlise works that would be fantastic.

Just ordered the Gate-n-Go passes for both cars. Will have 2nd "SHOT" on April 7th. So hoping for a better situation that last year's day trip to Carlisle........

It's three days, Friday to Sunday. If you can't or don't want to spend the whole three days there, Saturday is the main event. If you only come for Saturday, you will see 80% to 90% of all Carlisle has to offer. The other two days are smaller by comparison, but I personally like being there on Friday because there is so much to see and that extra day gives you an opportunity to see everything. Sunday is the smallest and shortest day and a lot of cars don't bother to show up. It ends early and there are much fewer people, but it's nice just to see if you won anything and to look at the other winners. Also, you can park your car anywhere you want on Sunday since it's a lot less formal. If you are looking to purchase anything from the swap meet and vendors area, the best day is Friday if you are looking for something hard to find and Sunday if you are looking to get a deal. I've picked up stuff cheep on Sunday as the vendors are packing up simply because they would rather sell it than pack it up, but you have to move quick. The vendors start leaving early. on Sunday.

I forgot to mention, if you're not sure if you want to enter your car into the show or not, I highly recommend you put your car in the show even if you don't think your car is nice enough for a show. It is immensely more convenient to have a car on the show field than to come as a spectator. You don't have to hunt for parking and wait online to enter, having a car on the filed allows you and one other person to not pay for a ticket at the door and most importantly, just having a home base with your own chairs and cooler in your trunk is a lifesaver on hot days.

Sounds like I'll be doing pretty good then,, I have plans of going Friday/Saturday, also I did purchase a Gate-N-Go ticket and filled out all the proper information, I do have intentions of being in the show.

Yes, Ed, RocsMercs suggestion is SPOT ON!!!! Better to have the GateNGo pass. Hopefully we will get a nice tent to sit under the hot sun!!!!!

Update: Ms. D will be in California the first 2 weeks in June so will hope to see everyone at Carlisle 2022.

This is accurate. Get the show pass, and park with the other Marauders. Also if there is a block of rooms at nearby hotels, it's always fun kicking it with your fellow MM enthusiasts afterwards for drinks/dinner

If I was back east, I would definitely go to Carlisle

Well, then come back EAST for a trip!!!!! :)
We miss YOU!!!!

If the event is open, I will be there. I think this will be number 16 out of 27 years! It is still up in the air if I will drive my DTR up, or ride in a friend's Ford--it is supposed to be his turn to drive this year. I hope to see many of my Marauder friends there! 2020 was a better show than I expected, I hope the 2021 turns the corner for car shows.

Regarding tips to first-timers:
==Gate & go is a great idea. You did remember to register in the Mercury Maruder.net class, right?
==Sunblock, hat, chairs, and rain gear. I think I can only remember 2 years I didn't get rained on, thankfully it usually doesn't last long.
==If you have an antique Ford and are shopping for parts, the gates are open Thursday, too. It is supposed to be vendor set up day, but that is when the best deals are made. Virtually no show cars on Thursday.
==Food on-site is the best event food I have ever seen, taste and selection. While pricey, the helpings are generous and you get your money's worth. Eat there, or bring a cooler / grill.
==Cool drinks, and hydrate! Most people are not used to being out in the June heat, even under the tent. If you are used to sitting in the air conditioning, drink an extra drink per day.
==if your health/age/inclination makes climbing Marauder Mountain a chore, hop on the red trolley that circulates through the show. It is a good idea to ride it for a full circuit, just to see what the whole show offers. That is especially useful if you want to do a cruise through the parts section to see what it is like, and you really aren't shopping for anything.
==after the show, there are some truly superb restaurants in the area. When I am in PA, I try not to eat at a familiar restaurant chain for lunch or dinner. It is part of the adventure!

See ya soon!

Update:

I have ordered our usual 20x20 tent and two eight-ft tables. If we get 25 cars registered, the tent will be free.

Mary

Thank YOU Mary, tent is ALWAYS appreciated. We registered both cars, so looking forward to a better year at Carlisle -- hope to see lots of ya's there :banana2:
