lol. well i just finished doing this swap to add the tach since CV's dont come with them. very happy with the results. i added a scangauge to monitor voltage(among other things) which is down in the pocket under the HVAC controls. what a task it was. project wasnt really that hard, but very tedious. i honestly couldnt have finished it without the help & expertise of the CV guru on CVN (DRock on the CV forums).

im just happy it's finished!

thanks.
hacklemerc, it was not plug & play. you actually have to repin the connectors since the CV & MM are different. i dont have any pics of the "during process" but here is one right after i finished re-pinning the connectors. not only do things have to be moved around, some pins from one connector have to be moved to the other. re-pinning the harnesses were definitely made easier since i went to crazy ray's & hacked off 2 harnesses from a CV down there. best thing about that was i got to the gate to pay & the lady waved me on.

That my friend is dedication. I try to keep all my mods away from the wiring and such, just out of fear of jacking stuff up.

Tell the bank personel- I've got chunks in my stool smarter than you. They always like that one, as they show me to the door. :shake: O"well let my mouth over load again.....

hacklemerc, i was definitely afraid of messing something up to the point that i couldnt fix it. actually i thought i was to a point where something was wrong, and i didnt take any "before" pics of the wiring harness so i couldnt put it back. then the savior/guru DRock on the forum was able to walk me through it. i work at a shop & i cant even explain something to someone without pointing things out or doing it myself. what's amazing is he is doing it by looking at pics and explaining it. there is no way i could have finished it without his help.

ROB, i did that with something else already.....needless to say im with another bank, lol.

Made me laugh, Thanks I needed that. Thinking back on when my mouth sometimes engauges before my brain. :cool4:

sorry guys. hadnt been on the site for a couple days. the odometer was the easy part. undid 2 small bolts, just pulled the whole gears & guts & all out of mine & put it in place. tricky part was getting the needle to read correctly using my scangauge II & GPS.

with all the little snags, took me about 2 days. if everything went well easy 4 hours job. but of course with my luck, it didnt go that way lol.
