I just came from the dealer. I ordered a new ( second one) trim piece for the dash, the long one with the Carbon Fiber decal that goes across the passenger side. The first (original) one had paint comming off just below the radio. The second (replacement) has paint comming off below the passenger side vent. The third (second replacement) came in trashed, the carbon fiber look decal was all scratched.

We are going to have a dude that does custom vinyl paint work re-paint the first replacement one.

Has anyone else had trouble with this. It's the strip just above the carbon fiber look decal, all one piece.

Also, the rubber trim between the top of the door and the glass is all bubbled inside. That equals RUST! EEEEWWWWWWWW!

I can get these replaced ONLY ONCE under warranty. Anyone have a solution so the new ones won't get all boogery in two more years. (I know, don't drive my car in the winter in Buffalo, NY)

I had the piece to the left of the steering wheel replaced (actually with a piece from a 300B so I could have the TC switch for a possible future use) and It has been looking not so hot like the 1st one lately...don't know why...I NEVER touch it....:down:
 
I'm getting ready to have the air vent to the right of the radio replaced. It's making a terrible racket. Plastic scraping plastic. So far though, no problems with the strip. I also have to have the passenger power window looked at. It struggles up and down. I cringe at the thought of the dealer pulling dash parts and door covers. I'm hoping I'm not inviting more rattles.

Now I see the paint is coming off my center instrument pod.....in front of the shifter!!:mad2: Same thing....black under the paint!!:shake:

If you buy the Ford interior paint it is darker than the charcoal but not quite black!! Anybody know where to have some custom made??:confused:

i have the same problem on mine, it really pisses me off that they painted it, and then it chips off, and I take great care of my car interior and out, there are a lot of little things about the car that everyone has complaints on and as you can see everyone has mostly the same problems

Right (passenger side) front windows have seemed to be a problem from day one. I remember a few years ago folks here talking about it. To me, it seems to be more of a voltage problem rather than a sticking issue. Get to a NAPA shop and buy a tube of "Sill Ease." It doesnt hurt to keep all the windows lubed.
 
Lubricating the window channels/tracks with silicone spray will do wonders in regards to window speed.

Any automotive paint supplier can mix you up an OEM match aftermarket batch. SEM products are highly recommended.

I had some mixed for when I did my floor console install, the paint is PPG interior paint and it was mixed to the OEM spec using my color code. I also brought in a sample piece, from which the mix was tinted some for an exact match (recommed you do this as well) The paint worked great, great coverage, excellent adhesion, and a beautiful match to my har-to-find Willow Green

Has been almost one year and the console still looks great, I recently used the paint for my a-pillar tach install as well.

A note, you will need a decent spray gun (Gravity-feed detail spray gun recommended) and an air-compressor. A small compressor will be suitbale for this job.

Also, you may want to try and carefully remove all the loose paint prior, to prevent future issues.
 
Picked my car up yesterday evening and the paint match on the trim piece is PERFECT. Only problem now is somene put a small (1/4") scratch in the aluminum piece around the shifter - F**k. Guess I need to order one, 'cause no one fessed up.

Hope it's not too much $$$

One thing fixed, another falls apart...
