Door sills

I think we should keep a level head on the colors in these sills...red would match exactly....NOTHING on the interior of our vehicles. Blue could be the same....but if it comes near the factory green of the guages...it might blend in a little better. Althugh I guess you could put color leds in whatever you wish.

At 1st I also said red, but green does make better sense to match our interior lighting.

Seat belt releases, and everything else that's been added to the interior of my MM. Also the reflectors on the bottom of the doors.

I got the Dynopro sills with double sided tape and they fell off in a week. Then I tried silcone adhesive caulk and they fell off. Then JB Quik for some reason, and it stuck like crazy to the aluminium sills but not the plastic, so they fell off again. Getting the JB Quik off the bottom of one sill and I dinged up the letters and it took me a long time to clean up the mess I made.

Finally took a wire wheel on my drill and just ripped the hell out of the plastic where the sills mount. Then put the bottom of the sills on a heavy wire wheel and roughed them up. Then slathered the sills and the bottom of the add-ons with 2-ton epoxy. They ain't going anywhere now! They actually turned out well, and if you whack them with your foot when getting out of the car you don't have to worry about knocking them loose.

Still a real PITA though.

If Wes was able to do these I'd consider getting new OEM plastic sills to start with. My only concern is that I've got so much wired in now I don't know how much more I could add. Might be able to just tie in to the juice from the underbody lighting kit?
