Not true, I much prefer a radar unit over a Laser and in some places you cant use laser as the vehicle or officer must be compromised. You are sorely mistaken with that last comment, maybe Atlanta is foolish enough to do this but not every other agency, Laser has its place and radar does too.
I can knock em dead all day with a Tomcat (700 dollar radar gun) and its accurate to within 2 mph up to 200 mph. Its instant on and will bury a Valentine one instantly in a good radar ops hands..
Laser requires the vehicle to be angled in such a way that the officer can point it or for the officer to be out of the vehicle. On small roadways without shoulders this is not possible. Radar does not require this, I've used radar from Hazard zones,closed lanes, constuction lanes and place it simply would not be possible or permissable to use laser..
Atlanta must have a bunch of idiots running the dept there, take it from me, thats to your advantage.. Richy
