Those of you engaging in winter grimey salty corrosive roads....I might suggest not.

Otherwise, great idea.

That's a good suggestion 'TAKER! I forget that in WI we have winter ;):mad2:

What is your particular concern..the wiring or the smaller mechanisms in the cutout?

Since they mount via standard 3" header collectors, all you have to do is unplug them and put the collector block plates in for the winter. Save them till Spring and you never have to worry about salt and corrosion. Besides, you wouldn't want to use them in the winter anyway. ;)

I always keep my block plates handy "just in case".

PS: PM me for the link to the vendor where I got mine. They don't support MM.Net so I don't want to get in trouble...

I figured if they were good, some of us would have them.

Thanks for all that posted!
I liked the dual note muffler idea, until this was suggested.
Let me get the power, to back the sound first!:P

The moving mechanisms......

But as suggested, with the 'doors' on the cutouts and alot of grease on the mechanisms...they may survive the north winter grime-age.

BTW: I have always been in favor of cutouts.

Got a live Demo!

Was hanging out at Dynopro Yesterday.
The Cutout topic came up again,
CJ showed me how his set-up worked on his own car (F-body).
His car has a single dump running down the middle,so only one cutout is required.
I do like this, very much.:D
Especially after a guy who I met last weekend at Byron Dragaway said,"I did not know your car was even running"

I think I was misunderstood. When winter comes, you unplug the motor, remove the entire cutout assembly and put the block-plates on. The cutouts sit warm and snug in a ziploc until spring. :)

No muss, no fuss, just a blocked off Y-pipe through the salty slush.

Cheers!

John
