First car you ever OWNED ?

1965 pontiac GTO 289 tri power
i use to pop the front wheels off the ground and race home everday from school hitting 130 mph then fill her up with my own private stock of premium fuel I lived on a farm and had my own 500 gal fuel suppy i belive gas was around 30cents a gallon back then. Wish i had a Time Machine.

1980 Jaguar XJ6, converted to a Chevy small block and th350 trans. Bought it when I was 16 but didn't get to drive it until I was 17. Brakes went out 3rd day I drove it!

Rebuilt master cylinder and front calipers by hand, $30 in rebuild kits saved so much money, calipers were 195 each master cylinder 100...

I put about 100k on it, had over 220k on the body when I got rid of it for a newer car. Wish I had kept it but it had issues, and some rust problems.

My first car was a 1986 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe 5sp. I bought it around 1990 I think. I still wish I had it. It was so comfortable, quick and very roomy.............for my girlfriend and I. I still compare every car I have had to that as far as comfort goes. And none have come close untill 3/14/09 when I bought my 2004 Marauder. Which by the way far surpasses it in every way. I just have to try out the roomy thing with my wife now!!!

In 1960, I bought a 1953 Ford 4 dr sedan, three speed, flathead for $250. With the motor off and the trans in first, it would slowly roll downhill unless I used the parking brake. The car also had an add-on heater.

Added porta-walls (remember them, you other oldtimers?), and sold the car for $275 after 5 months.

Only car I ever made a profit on.

1969 VW Karmann Ghia Convertible, bought in my senior year of college in 1973 for $1250. Quite an efficient and fun vehicle. I transported furniture and a Harley Davidson in that car. Rust in the front fenders was the only problem. Sold it 5 years later for the price I paid for it. Still miss it.

1991 Ford Mustang GT Green/Silver 5 speed. Got a lot of work done to it. Sold it back to my dad... he gave it to my brother. Brother wrecked it.

65 Chevy Belair, Burgandy, with red cloth...straigt 6...Still had the glass windshield washer bottle. Sold it for a 67 mustang coupe

'68 Cougar XR 7
Firemist Blue w/Black Vinyl top, Black leather interior w/wood grain dash, overhead consol, 302 4bbl, 4spd top loader, factory dual exhaust.
I really loved that car - the engine is still sitting in my garage. Of course it has a few mods.................

61 pontiac bonneville convertible

:)FULL RACE WITH THREE ON THE FLOOR, 3 DUECES, 390 REAR,Hurst shifter, and chrome wheels-$3,345 of sex on wheels! Got it new @ almost 18 years of age and made the full payment in Cash-my salesman grabed the sack of money I was counting out on his desk and ran my butt upstairs away from the plate glass window of the Brooklyn dealership! Asked why I bought the car this way-I wanted to impress my best girl at the time-my Mom who signed for me since N.Y. law would not let a car be sold to a minor(under 21) even if he had the cash! Those were the days-men were men, women were women, and kids were strange!:o

My first car that I owned was a l950 Olds two door coupe, Rocket 88.

Didn't look like much (think Transformers 1, Sam's yellow Camero) but it was mine and I loved it.

Raked out, dual exhaust, no hubcaps, wheels painted red.

I felt really cool. Bought it summer of 1959 for $100.00, TTL.

Regards,

my first was a 1970 oldsmobile cutlass 442 convertable with a 425....i still have the car. im in the process of restoring it.
