First or Second MV?

Maybe not the right place to put this, but I couldn't resist...

IF it's wrong, what can I say, I'm new, and confused...

MV1 or MV2 in Indy 2004...

The best hotel parking lot I've ever seen...

Ever see a prettier site? (Waiting to get on the Indy track...)

I liked looking out my windshield on the Indy Track doing about 96 mph when we are supposed to do 40 mph tops... Later we had a firm scolding for laying our "piece of rubber" on the track... This is the real Indy 500 track man!

This is better.

MV8 in Charlotte

You were at Marauderville II in Indy and yet you just joined MM.Net this month - 7 years later?? :dunno: Do you have an old screen name?

Our first annual event was "Marauder Round-up" in Ennis TX in Sept. 2003. Little did we know we'd have a second, then a third, then a ...... annual event!! :D

Funny. I just met last week a fellow Chitown Marauder owner who bought his DTR new. He was at MV2 along with the Mercury Club he belongs to and just really recently signed on MM.net. He has Papa Smurf as his avatar. Paul is his name. Super nice guy.

Eaton Swap + 4.10's = Wreeeeeeeeeedom!!

........you got that right----- from what I hear--25 mph was tops at Indy--where as at MV8 --I got to 120mph + on the back stretch with Ms.M in shotgun--with you on the down low if I remember-----how cool is that!!!!!!!!!
That was AWESOME!

Hit at least 120 coming high off turn 4 into the front stretch....

Yes, I was at MVII but had limited access to MM.net back then. I have more pictures if anyone is interested. I think my screen name was the same. However, it didn't recognize it when I tried to login years later. BTW, the absence was due to family issues...

I think it might have been 40--regardless, TOO slow to sample Indy.

However, I, too, did a run at Charlotte--hence getting my screen name after that. That afternoon was WAY COOL:banana2:

From the MV8 Memories Thread .... "Lap speed will be about 35 MPH. I assure the Pace Car driver that we CAN KEEP UP if she wants to step it up."

The experience was just fine for a single lap run..... any faster and it would have been over in NO time flat. I may have tickled 36 MPH a couple times. If it was a 5-lap run with higher speeds, I suspect there would have been a pile of DTR's up against the wall in Turn 1. :P

But we did get the driver wrist bands and safety briefing.

Twice my speed! Spent most of the lap trying to not bump into the guy crawling along ahead of me.:D Yup, I sure needed that safety briefing....

Bigdog, close yer hood!! :D

That was an awesome day.

The hood was open to help with cooling the engine due the fan not working. Again a big thanks to Russ for installing the replacement that afternoon:up:
