First ride in a S/C Marauder!!

Today I finally got to ride in a supercharged marauder. About a week ago I met an MM owner who works at the local Lincoln/Mercury dealer, he didnt have his blue beast there at the time so we echanged numbers. Well today I was in the area and gave him a call and sure enough he had his car there. We took it out for a little spin and to be honest words cant express what I was feeling. It is by far the quickest car I have ever ridden in. :bows: :bows: :bows: I absolutely loved it, and now I feel as if my mind is made up. I really have no other choice but to take the plunge now. That car was a beast, I couldnt believe the acceleration it had. And with the whine of the blower to top it off...:D it was the best. I apologize for my excitement but this was a big deal for me. Ive been waiting a while to experience such power. By the way he has a Trilogy kit and had nothing but great things to say about it. He said he's visited the site before. We also discussed the Procharger and Vortech kits, maybe Ill go with one of those. Im leaning towards Procharger as of right now.

Getting back into my Marauder and driving off I felt like I was in a grandmas car. :lol: Oh well, at least I had it cleaned up...​
 
Any supercharged MM is really nice. Nothing like the extra power.
 
Awsome, I would kill just to ride in a S/C Marauder, I got to get down to

the cape to see if Overlord will take me for a ride :cool:
 
Be advised, that different types of Superchargers make power in different places in the RPM scale. The Trilogy S/Cer is a roots type, which offers most of the power gains in the low, and midrange RPM's, and the centrifugals (such as the Procharger) offer most of the power gains higher up in the RPM scale. Many centrifugal customers end up getting higher stall speeds on their torque converters(usually 3500 RPM) to make up for the lower degree of low RPM output. Which can be done no problem, although it may make your driving experience on the street a little different. Just a heads-up. That's all.

I'm not trying to tell you what to buy or what not to buy. Just that they are different in their power delivery.

Yep, so does mine, but the centrifugals definately have more power above 5,000 RPM's.
 
Yep, like we have said countless times now, its all about what you want your car to do.

I am thankfull we have the options to choose from.

Yep, I have no argument with you there. We DO have options, and they WILL yield a slightly different type of powerband. Which type is better is for the potential customers to decide for themselves since it's their $$. Hopefully for their sake, they will do their homework, and get some UNBIASED info about the differences of the types of S/Cers. The book "Supercharged" by Corky Bell is a good place to start. It lists the pros and cons of each of the three types of S/Cers.

There's also a car magazine article titled "S/Cing for Dummies" that's been posted on this site which is also a good unbiased read. I suggest that people interested in S/Cing, read it CAREFULLY. Particularly post #5 of that thread. ;) Below is a link to it.....

"If you have the means, I highley recommend it." Your check book will suffer! It is only the beginning, but I think it is money well spent on the best car I've ever owned.

I have already started "doing my homework" and have a better idea of what may be the right choice for me. But still have much to learn, money to save and oh yea whenever one of you S/C guys wants to let me get behind the wheel instead of experiencing from the passenger seat, I'm ready!

I just got the lidio tune and that made me pitch a tent! I couldn't even pretend to imagine what being S/Ced feels like. so for daily mpg sake would you say the pro would be a better choice?
 
As far as gas mileage goes, the Trilogy kit has an Eaton S/Cer that uses a bypass valve that is open and closed according to throttle position ( it isn't activated by the level of RPM's as some think). So during one third or less throttle, the supercharger is being bypassed for fuel economy.

I get 13 MPG around town, and 16.5 on the highway, but most of that is due to the 4.56 gears I have in the rear of my Marauder. I had the gears way before the S/Cer, and having the S/Cer has only reduced my gas mileage by 1 to 2 MPG depending on how much I get on the pedal (and I do often :D ).
