Headlight Restoration Options?

My son just bought a Silver Birch. The headlights have all the usual fogging and crazing in the plastic. I’ve looked at the aftermarket options available on Fleabay just in case these can’t be brought back to life. Would you recommend trying one of those headlight restoration kits first, or just buying the aftermarket bezels? This photo angle actually makes them look better than they actually are.

I put TYC’s from rockauto on my 03 Silver Birch.
They have the same black trim.
I will send a photo on 24th.

I'm looking at them now. It's hard to tell, but do they have the correct black "surround" inside the bezel?

I tried Mothers wheel polish and got so-so results, but my lens were very yellowed. Yours aren't that bad. As for aftermarket, TYC's seem to work and Depo brand also if you can find them are good choices. Ease of fitment is generally the issue over looks. Light pattern on the aftermarket seems hit or miss but if you don't drive much at night than any cleared up lens probably will look OK for car shows and such.

That’s what I’m checking out…the TYC or Depo options. They both look decent for the money.

Thanks for sharing the photos! I ordered the same set and they will be here in a few days! Much appreciated!!!

I have used a series of different wet sand grit papers and then a clear coat spray with good results. It was time consuming took a six pack and one hour per lens. Money left over for gas.
