Anyone else notice heavy LEO activity in their area? Six Il. State troopers set up a check point on Peace Rd. in our dinky little town, then on Plank there was a Dekalb Co. Sheriff radaring and his chaser about a mile up the road, and two more State troopers still at the check point when I came home? I have never seen this much activity in one day.........

Gearing up for the long holiday weekend, I bet. Everyone, be safe and no drinking and driving. Buckle up!

Yes. Yes I have. So many heavy LEOs. But it is so hard to talk to a guy about being too fat when he has a gun.

LOL...Yes. the "six pack" vs. "his six shooter" index is high in Illinois, must be what we grow in corn communities?

Lynn...It's called a "wolf pack," a habit of the ISP that means to quell, or cover local communities before the vast influx of "visitors" over this next holiday weekend. So many come home...

Wear your seatbelt, and respect the posted speed limit.

This too shall pass?

Just so you know, there is a national campaign going on for the next two weeks across the country. It is funded by a Federal Grant that pays for State, County, and Local police. Its the Click-it or Tick-it! Its sole purpose is to hammer people for not wearing their seatbelts in jurisdictions that have laws on the books where seat belt useage is manditory and enough cause to stop you even if you are not speeding or goofing off. They opperate on the wolf pack setup...one officer with binoculars calls off color and make of vehicle on the radio, 1/4 mile ahead is anywhere from 5-10 trooper, deps, and police officers that stop the called vehicle and drop them a seat belt skid. They pick select times of the year to do this, its the 3rd year they have done it here in michigan. Damn....thats way to much knowledge... I need a long island iced tea....

Yeah they've been runnin' a lot of TV and radio 'bout that way ot here too.....................

Big Holiday weekend woulda been my guess too...........

No really

Click it or "I betcha can't see through my window tint, biotch."

I'm gonna wear dark shirts for the next two weeks just to be sure. :)

Best,

Dan

I wondered if they did the tv commercials in other states, here they use michigan state police, sheriffs deps, and detroits elite traffic unit in the local version of the click-it or tick-it tv commercials.

Cleveland area adds...

I've seen the ads here too. It's Ohio Troopers that are on ours. I also have noticed an increased amount of activity. I spend 12-15 hours a day on the road w/ the vet and most of the time I see 1 or 2 a day. Lately it's been by the hour and multiple on the highways.

Everyone be safe out there!!

since i have the 'marauder' of strollers (big, heavy, cool looking, and black) with those big over sized tires, i guess i could get it going pretty fast... maybe i will take jett out over the weekend and see how fast we can go.

In the MD/DC/VA area around heavy travel days like Memorial Day and Labor Day, there is a joint program of the various state and county agencies called "Smooth Operator". All of the LEOs are out in-force to increase safety, look for aggressive drivers, and nab some DUI/DWIs. I-95, I-83, and I-66 will be haevily patrolled this weekend.
