Help,need headlight trouble shooting

MustangMarauder

LAYING WHEEL SINCE 1991
Sooooo everything but my headlights were working.checked the bulbs, fuses and they were fine.I guessed it was the LCM.I got one from FASTBLACKMERC put it in yesterday and still no headlights.any suggestions? thank you in advance

Got your PM's. Sorry I haven't responded to them.

Are the headlights OK? I have seen cases where both headlights burn out at the same time.

If high beams work and all other lights work besides Low Beam then you should replace the bulbs.

TWICE I had Silverstar headlight bulbs low beam burn out on me at the same exact time!

I pulled the drivers side head light out and by pulled I mean the entire headlight assembly.i can't believe they designed it that way, anyway the bulb was fine.they are the original bulbs.i ordered a new light switch because I don't know what else it could be.hopefully that does the trick

Did you put in another 9007 bulb and see if low beam worked?

If I unplug the headlight harness from the headlight, what 2 prongs in the plug do I check to see if
I am getting power at the headlights?

SHOU,you sir are a genius!!!!! We'll I'm getting 12 volts at the headlight on each side with the light switch in the on position.i guess it's the bulbs.could the filaments the bad and still attached, not broke at any point?? i put them up to the light and they looked good??? If so I sure waisted a few dollars rebuilt LCM,new headlight switch and time and energy.

As others have said here it is not unusual for the headlamps to burn out in pairs. It is very likely that once one burns out, the other is right behind it as it has burned the same amount of time.

You didn't waste money on the new rebuilt LCM, they factory ones are prone to fail at some point, mine did earlier this year. New headlight switch might of been a waste but just keep the old one in cause you may ever need it in the future.

I was pretty sure it was your bulbs if you still had high beam. If the LCM had failed then you would of had no LB or HB.

I'm sure you'll be happy to see again!
