Meeting everyone at MV9 was my favorite. Even if there were no events/activities planned, I would have been as happy as a clam hanging out with a rather large group of people that have the same interests/love/passion as I do. Ever since I joined this site and then met my first group of fellow MM owners (the BOC in Charlotte back in May), I had been wishing in the back of my mind that I had bought my MM sooner and thought about all the 'fun times' I have missed. But now, I realize that joining this group, this unbelievably close-knit bunch of people that are spread out across the country (and beyond), at this point in my life couldn't have happened at a better time. I have to reluctantly close the door on two big parts of my life very soon, but have opened a new door by becoming a MM owner and am glad that I did. All of you are special to me, and I'm grateful to have found you.
After hearing it first-hand from Steve Babcock about how the Marauder line was squashed, I did like many others and asked in my mind, "why?"; after thinking about it, I realized that if the Marauder line had survived and become a mass-produced machine, would there have been ANY Maraudervilles, a website called MM.net, and a great bunch of people to know and be proud to share something special with? True, there may have been something, but probably nothing like what we have now. One door closed, but another one opened.
I don't consider myself a religious person; I can't even remember the last time I've gone to church. I do believe there is a God, and I do believe that everything happens for a reason....even the bad stuff.
And I do believe that it will not snow during MVX...
Wow is all that can be said! The days leading up to MV9 were like the last week before Christmas. I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat...as much...I don't miss many meals, had visions of blue, red, silver, and even black running through my head. How about this...
Twas the night before Marauderville, not a Chevy dare stir as to wake up DOOM...for he's the one who makes them shake and run to their room. I was trying to sleep, tossing and turning ...when I smelled the smell of rubber burning. I hopped from my bed and I heard the whine of an Eaton at full song making the Goodyears leave black marks that were really looooonnnng. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, over 500 horses under that hood...beats everything (except Sherman) really good. The stuff of legend for those that didn't make it...so believe it to be true cause Doom do bake it...huh?
