I think my fuel pump is having issues. Gurus help

I was talking to a fellow member here offline. Here's what I experienced today.

Ok, so i was out riding for at least an hour today in mid 90's weather and stopped at a light. Car started stumbling and skipping. Drove a little further, then shut it down at the store. Wide band was off the scale lean at this time. Came back after 10 min or so, started the car and it was fine. Drove another 10 min headed home and it did it again. Then shut off. Waited a min it crank back up, but was barely running. Drove it home that way and it was running just enough to keep the car moving. Cut off in the driveway and would not start. I could smell a burning plastic like smell at this time as well. Nothing new there as I've smelled that for a while but can't figure out where it's coming from. Waited about 5 min. It started again and I drove it in the garage. Whew!!! Went back out a maybe 15 minutes later and it crank and idled fine for 5 min or so until I shut it down. No CEL or anything. Not sure what it could be besides the fuel pump. Thanks for your help in advance

Fuel Pump

Here in Vegas it was about 117 degrees out and I had less than 1/2 tank of fuel sitting in a parking lot. Well long story short started the Marauder up and after a five minutes or so started stumbling and stopped that was it.
Got her home figured it was the pump so I removed it from the tank and it was fried "big time melted":mad2:. Installed the new pump assembly good to go.
Now I keep a full tank for sure in the summer..:bandit:

Yes, went with the big filter that was recommended here. Can't remember the details. Also went with an upgraded FPDM

I've driven in hotter weather, but that could be the case. I have the Aeromotive 340 fuel pump. Both fuel filter and pump have approximately 11k miles. Not a lot in my opinion. Although there was another thread about the Aeromotive 340 pump having issues

I thought about that, but scared to drive it and end up having to get it towed back home. If you remember, my xcal3 doesn't data log well for some reason. Almost like it doesn't record the event if I remember correctly

Try data logging the FRPS. If you see it start rising from 40 to upper 50's while cruising around then start finding a place to pull over..

Just changed my fuel pump last week because of the same problem. finally wouldn't start at all. Had 168K miles. Pump was cooked. Runs fine now.
 
Man I don't want to wrestle with this pump. I may drop the tank this time. I'm going to data log it and see what comes back first. If it's the pump, don't think I'll go back with Aeromotive. Any suggestions of something equivalent

What's the history with these? How does it compare to the 340? I have a boost a pump, but didn't need it with the 340.

Nevermind, I did a little research and seems pretty legit for $99. A lot cheaper than the 340. Anyone been running one of these for a while without issues?

Zack has used the AEM 320 unit and is pleased with it.

I have a Aeromotive 340 (BNIB) but I think I will be going with a AEM pump due to how many on here and other forums have complained or had problems with the Aeromotive 340 pump.

What's the part number on the AEM 320? I'm looking at Summit website now. Is it 50-1000?
