"In Memoriam....." forum

There's a post on Facebook by Mike Heckman's sister that he passed away. He'd been facing severe health issues lately. He was the driving force that started the Louisville meets. I really enjoyed my time getting to know him (as the photo from Louisville 2012 attests).

Perhaps we can recognize his memory at Carlisle. Thanks to this silly car, I have met some really great people through the Marauder.

Damn! Sorry to see this...without this guy, Louisville would have never been a thing. A MAJOR contributor to the MM community. RIP, Mike :bigcry:

"Who the hell are you?"

This makes me sad. I was just thinking of him a week or so ago. I was thinking of calling him. There was a time him and I talked often. Then about 2018 or 19 he fell off the radar. So I let him be. Damn. Wish I had stepped up and called him. I was hoping to get in touch with him during this years Lville event. Gonna miss his humor and laughs. RIP Mike.

I knew Mike (MM2004) was going through it for a while, but he was very private about his health issues. He had beaten one tumor and was clear for a while but it came back worse than before. His car has been at my place for almost a couple years while I was trying to get it back on the road. His car will be for sale soon. :bigcry::bigcry:

Rest in peace man, I'll see you again one day.

Thanks for the update Rick, FastMerc and I just wondered about him probably the weekend before he passed. Wow, 90, but knew he had to sell his cars.

One of my last memories of him was at a car gathering he held at a park near Polaris/ IKEA area with the SS and MM group. I came out of the building and heard a racket, it was HUGE acorns, about the size of ping pong balls, dropping from very tall oak trees. The SS guys were outside and got their cars out of the line of fire, but didn't bother to say anything to me. Needless to say, my car looked like Alarmguy Bob's after his SB got pelted by hail near the Columbus airport. :bigcry: I left it parked till the next summer, when my house roof got hail damage and needed to be replaced. Somehow my MM "got" damaged in that storm "while parked in the garage"! :coolman: A good DingMan worked his magic, even sent it across the street to be detailed, so it would show any missed damage.

RIP Dale aka ZipMM (I remember his changing his handle, was it "Daily?")

It is profound grief and sadness that I share with you that RFOverlord/Bob Tischler passed away yesterday. While we were separated, we still had a cordial relationship. We will have a small gravesite service for family then a Celebration of Life repass where I volunteer some time next week. We’d known each other for 42 years. He also leaves a sister, brother-in-law, two nieces and their husbands and four great nephews. May he rest in peace.

Heartbroken! So many great times and memories. One of the good guys with a bigger than life personality that we really enjoyed. Wicked sense of humor...look out, heaven. Ms. D and I send our love to you and Bob's family. Will be in touch.

I sure will miss Bob (Velvet Fog). Helluva guy. Thanks for telling us, and please let us know if there's a memorial somewhere.
