Jake,

Thank you for going 'above and beyond' in keeping us informed these past several days.

At sensitive times such as this, it is better to wait for information to unfold than it is to ask questions.

You Sir, have certainly done so.

I encourage everyone that has not yet signed Alex's guest book, to take a minute or two and go here -> http://www.curlewhills.com/

Best,

Mike.

Jake, thank you for everything that you have done to help Dave, his family and our community. Knowing you, I wouldn't expect anything less. Thanks again.

Thanks all, but I don't deserve any accolades. I just do what I'm supposed to do - nothing more! Any of you (God forbid!) would do the same. Phil (cougar9150) should get the accolades. He did more than I all the while working. Dave (Starman) cut his Tennessee vacation short by three days and did a marathon drive home on Monday to be at the funeral.

I know the family and myself appreciated the support!

I spoke to Phil on the phone & he offered us who were driving over to stop at his home for food & refreshment which was very nice of him to do so. Dave cutting short his Vacation and rushed home to be with his friends also shows us what kind of guy he really is. And you Jake I couldn't say enought nice things about you. Not only did you help out David & his family you helped all of us out too. True friends !!!

That attitude is what makes you the man...

It's times like this I'm proud to be counted in this circle of friends.

Exactly, Rich. At times everyone steps up, Jake steps up ALL the time. Again, thanks Jake ..and thank you Rich, you too are the man, always. Dennis

Well said. We are a family.

Jake,
Just as you were I'm just trying to do what I can to help my brother in his time of need. Dave and Alex were the first people I met from this site and they were the people who taught me that this is more than about the cars. They brought me into their home, treated me as one of their own, fed me, laughed with me, and were there when I needed someone. Abby must be a saint why else would she put up with me at their house all hours of the day 3-4 days a week sometimes.

Who would have thought a few years ago that when this crazy guy cut me off on 19 during rush hour and threw his business card at me because we both had Marauders that it would develop one of the most rewarding friendships that I have.

The amount of people from this site regionally and across the country that showed they cared, reached out during this tragic time just reinforces what Dave, Alex, Abby, and Summer showed me. While the cars are the common thread that brings us together, the friendships that develop extend way beyond these mechanical beasts.

Alex was loved by many and will be deeply missed by us all. Alex will live on in all of our hearts and will be with me every wrench I turn, every tire I smoke, every pass I make.

I would like to take this moment to thank all of the members who have shown thier support and condolences to my family, it is truly a hard time for us but reading the kind words posted hear and for the flowers and offerings sent on my sons behalf. we can feel the love. FYI the other boy who was in the vehicle has been removed from advanced life support and is expected to make a good recovery at this time, when Austin awakened from the coma he said did I fall off my skateboard.
this morning I received news that one of Alex's friends John C was visiting the scene of the crash last night and when he was pulling out of the street on his motocycle he was struck by a car and he is now in criticle condition in the same hospital as Austin in ICU I now ask that you pray for him and his family. It has been an emotional roller coaster.
