I'm wanting to do my cylinder head cooling mod ASAP but am finding no one locally interested in doing this for me. Zack made pieces on his on and Lethal Performance still markets kits for these motors. A labor intensive affair but necessary if you give a darn about these cars and other F-L-M cars with similar motors.........

The lethal performance kit goes to the back of the heads correct? You will be looking at a good bit of labor charges at a shop for pulling the trans to do that I’d imagine.

The best way to do it is the top of the heads like Zack and Travis’ kit. I bet if you call On3 performance they would sell you the head fittings, then all you need is a 90 degree barb fitting with a 1/2” NPT end.

That's the plan. There are firm plans drawn up to be at MartyO's shop for a few days next month. Hotel reservations made but no car rental reservations yet. MartyO and 88grandmarq have agreed to make my vision of Marauder 'Phase One' come to fruition!

Both Men are good and honest brokers.

I've done business with each of them and will continue to do so in the future.

REALLY? I did mine with the motor in the car, trans on the motor, where are you getting your information?

ICT BILLET. Ebay store has those top of rear head fittings. I used two sets front for Cot delete and rear set for the cooling mod. They are around 28 dollars? Then get your brass elbow fittings at your nearest home store and you are set.

First, relax.

I assumed this was the kit he was talking about

If you installed a kit like this with the transmission attached, kudos to you, I guarantee a shop is likely not going to attempt that and I’m not even sure how it’s possible.

Never did I say you had to pull the engine, at all ever, or transmission to do a kit utilizing the the top freeze plugs.

My experience is from actually doing it, that’s my engine on a stand, it being out has nothing to do with the cooling mod.

Thanks

This is the route ya'll need to take.

I am relaxed, I am however tired of disinformation.

You don't need to remove the motor or trans for either kit, would it be easier, sure, but if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

The kit I used, http://www.cobraengineering.net/cooling mod.html

When you put your motor back in, look up, you can get to the freeze plugs easily.

Both of those will not work FBM. As you should know the MM needs 2 fittings

To those asking for a "kit" if your unable to figure out what fittings to buy dont even bother with a cooling mod.

It's way over your head.

I did not spread any misinformation.

You clearly are just looking for a fight, you also have a reading comprehension issue.

My engine is back in and running, thanks. I don’t see how you would reach the REAR freeze plugs and have the room to install the cooling fittings, but I didn’t say it was impossible.

He was talking about having a SHOP INSTALL THE COOLING KIT. I said they would probably kill him on labor and pull the transmission for access, this was assuming he was talking about the kit I linked. It’s a hypothetical, depends on the shop and the mechanic. For the second time, I NEVER MENTIONED ENGINE REMOVAL, the picture I provided just happens to be an engine on a stand to show my cooling fittings.

I know you are a long time member and I respect you but I’m honestly perplexed by your complete disrespect that I did nothing to deserve.

No, you are thinking the trans needs removed, and it doesn't, all I did was clarify that, would it make it for easier access, yes, but at the cost of an R&I of the trans I wouldn't do it. It will bolt in just fine without taking the car apart.
