July 2nd meet

Here is the scoop. When we went to Dukes last time a man approached me saying he wanted to feature our cars on his television program and a little story on me and a few of us.

He wanted us to come on by Dukes on a friday night since that's when the new cars shine. Old School belongs to saturday night.

So I suggest a meet July second at Dukes at 6pm.

We should only lock it in if we can get a good line up going.

Zack, you gotta make it.... especially if the black can drive that far. I am willing to trailer it for you because I am awesome despite my anti-trailer attitude.

Who can make it?

My buddy Bill Wildt? He grew up in my old neighborhood.I got him to do the JC Whitney interview(s) this year. He was supposed to do it in 2009 but it didn't pan out. He was the one who put me in touch with the guy in charge of the JC Whitney show so we all got parked together last year.

Won't be able to make, gonna be picking up the kids in Naperville. Haven't been there in years, but I remember going to Dukes in the early 80's and seeing some bad a$$ American Muscle :bows:

We should only lock it in if we can get a decent turnout. I might go either way just to see what's up, but if it's like 3 Marauders that might be a bummer.

We need a pep rally!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the July 2nd show @ Dukes!!!!!!!:banana2::beer: Maybe some people that can make it to dukes we can have a meeting before so we can arrange a cruise to dukes would look nice arriving together?:coolman:

This is not aimed particularly at you or the planned meet on the 2nd, but applies to most of the events that everyone tries to arrange for a Marauder meet. When you want to get a group of Marauder owners and their cars together, don't do it a well publicized car show event. Instead of making the car "stand out" in the crowd, it instead looks like a "herd of buffalo" and then diminishes the value of being unique. How unique can you be if 12 identical cars show up?

I recommend to everyone that is into car shows to be that unique person at the show. Enjoy meeting new people you *don't* know, and take pictures you can bring back to share with the herd.

Meets like the chicken runs are perfect for marauder owners to get together, but I tend to shy away from shows where I know a bunch of marauder owners are going to be, with the exception of extremely large shows such as Carlisle, Car Craft and Maraudervilles.

eh. us chicago guys like to wolf pack...makes meets more fun, could be also why almost everyone from this neck of the woods knows each other. (for the most part)

so where is Dukes? I will be in Bartlett hanging at my brothers (who is itching to buy an MM) on the 2nd. Sort of a laid back poker party batchelor party but... if Dukes is out thataway I may be able to swing out there for a bit with my black
