July Carolina Meet- Updates

Regarding your tag issue--Meant to tell ya Saturday----go to NC--get the new tags and registration before you leave SC..your in the military--its allowed-----problem solved

Thanks, Tom. You know, for a guy that likes to drive over nails right after getting new tires, you're a swell guy! ;)

I was just on the NCDMV website and did a check on the personal LP link to see if my choice is available (MYSB#112) and it was, but it didn't do anything for me, now matter how I arranged the letters/numbers.

Then I remembered a while ago posting that I need to come up with a nickname for my MM and decided on 'Silver Phoenix'. So, did a check on 'SILVRPHX' and it's available.

This I like a lot better than my first choice. PHX is the airport identifier for Phoenix, AZ; being in weather, that's how we identify locations...by their 3-letter abbreviation. For example, Charleston is CHS, Charlotte is CLT, Columbia is CAE, etc, etc. Also, AZ borders NM, which is where I bought your....oops, I mean my MM.

I just hope one of the other SB owners hasn't already taken this nickname for their MM...if so, then I guess there will be more than one 'Silver Phoenix'.

I would like to try and arrange a get-together down here in my neck of the woods before I leave...thinking about after MV9, when it cools off. It would be great to have some MM owners at my retirement ceremony, which will most likely be around Veteran's Day weekend, but this will be held on a weekday; I'm sure most, if not all, would not be able to do a weekday thing. But if anyone thinks they would be interested in attending an Air Force retirement ceremony, let me know so I can send you an invitation.

Having a meet down here before I say good-bye to the area would be great. Lots of 'donks' and 'wagon-wheeled' cars to see!

Hey Rex, there's even a candy Crown Vic dressed up in GBP colors/decals that's in the neighborhood across the street from my housing development! Haven't seen it in a while, though, so not sure if it's still around.

All sounds great--yeah--NC allows for 8 letter spaces--but the extra $30 ea year is a bit stupid and wrong --oh well--

That retirement thing---As you know i was stationed there zillions of years ago, met wife and married there--she has relatives(cousin) she visits there--maybe could come down, have here stay with here cousin and I go party withyou--a heck of a week--end...keep me posted and I will see how things turn out by then--

Got in about 6 hours ago from 'playing war' in Gulfport, MS since last Thursday. Whole thing was pointless, a waste of taxpayers' money, and a big waste of my time. Makes me glad I'm retiring and will NEVER have to do that **** ever again. I was up for 30 hours straight at the start and almost 24 hours straight at the end; getting too old to be doing that crap...and I hope to never have to eat an MRE ever again.

But, I'm home now, don't have to go back to work until Friday, then will be off for the weekend, so it's all good. Will be meeting the ex in Charlotte tomorrow so I can spend some time with my kids since I have a few days off. It was such a nice feeling to see my MM again and to hop in it and punch it hard and often on the way home earlier this morning.

Well, I'm starving, so time to jump in my MM and haul ass to get some breakfast. 152 days until I'm retired....

BTW, welcome back!

No doubt that we all would love to come to MB--Dang---Wife and I spent our honeymoon there-----

It's all to do with our own logistics thing--

It will happen--when we all can spend a few days there somewhere in the same motel/hotel thingy--and we all can social together in the day and go places in the evening and with our MM's---..trust me--its in my mine anyway--it will happen--

Why--Because we have not done it yet--at MB--so there--and we have been just about everywhere but there--and Charleston--but we can do that too---

Hate we missed it. July was a crazy month. Todd and Clay got backed in to by a Hummer while walking through a parking lot. It was a close call. Knocked Todd down and almost rolled the back tire over Clay. He actually had to pull up to get Clay from under the truck. Clay is fine. Came out with just a sc***** ankle. Todd hit on his shoulder and herniated a disk in his neck. He had surgery and is now recovering. I hope we can make it to the next meet.

Wow! Close call for sure!

Keep us posted.

Nt sure what's in the works for Sept yet. I'm planning to attend the Southern Marauders breakfast meet on Sat Sept. 17th, other than that, any thoughts about a Sept CM g-t-g?
