RIP Hall Azz Marauder

Well, I am sad to report that Bill totalled his Marauder 2 days ago. He pulled out into a 4-lane median intersection and proceeded to turn left not seeing a 4-Runner coming and it plowed him in the rear. Shoved the rear bumper all the way to the back window. Luckily everyone involved was ok, but the ride is toast. He is going to find out how much buy-back is and try to buy another Marauder and swap everything out. If the buyback is too high, he just might try to start from scratch. Sorry I don't have any pics, but I have not seen the car myself yet.

Sorry to hear about the MM :( ; but glad that Bill and everyone is OK.

I'm so glad everyone's OK. So sorry to hear about this. His KB S will live again. Give Bill our best!

:bunny:

It's good to hear everyone's OK. The MM was sacrificed. :bigcry: ...imagine if it was a WRX or EVO or one of those small ricey things. the bumper may have ended up on the driver's lap. Just make it happen and get another MM on track.
good luck.

It's terrible that his Marauder was totaled.
I had something similar happen, luckily the car had under 6k miles and the insurance company paid the ~20K to get it back to immaculate condition.

We talk alot about the performance drawbacks to driving a two and a half ton "sports" car. Stories like this are one of the upsides to having such a heavy, rugged car.. safety.

True dat. Good thing he wasn't in one of those tuner cars.

wow that sucks. i crashed mine in february. i store it all winter but it was a nice day so i went to the gas station. i made it about two miles from my house when a lady pulled out in front of me. i totalled her car and caused 8 grand worth of damage to mine. air bags and everything. but its fixed and it was her fault. of course. she paid for it all. hahahah

Yup. Kinda like driving those old Buick deuce-and-a-quarters. It's hard to die in a Marauder.

I'm just curious - was there any fire?

Funny you should say that being I work at a Ford dealer. No fire. So why police cars are blowing up? I would have to say not Ford's fault.

Marauder saves another!

Great news for the Owner!
Though a major inconvienence, that's one check , I will be happy to write!(given the alternative).
Bad deal for the car!
I don't buy the police cars blowing up any more than another car.
Speculating, it has to do with the fuel tank having mostly vapors(low fuel),and police cars spending much of the time on the shoulder.
Kinda makes my first door ding, seem petty!

I also work for a Ford dealer. I believe that the fires have to do with the flares, bullets and other flammable items that can be stored in the trunk.

I didn't mean to cause an argument, but if the bumper was really at the back window like you said, any vehicle with a fuel tank where our's is placed would be of concern.

THE POLICE CARS DON'T HAVE A FUEL SHUT OFF VALVE IN THE BACK THAT CUTS OUT WHEN THEY GET BUMPED OR HIT FROM BEHIND. THIS HELPS THE POLICE BY NOT LETTING THE CARS CUT OUT WHEN CHASING PEOPLE. SO THE PUMP STAY ON AFTER AN ACCIDENT AN BOOM ..

Really????!

I beg to differ. The beast below has the switch just like every fuel injected Ford made since 1986 (I looked in the trunk to re-verify after reading your post 1st).

BTW, welcome to the site.
