Lady Gaga at the Superbowl?

Mr. Man

GAME OVER, YOU LOSE!
I haven't followed football to closely since SCCheesehead passed away. I used to like to razz him and trash talk with all the other football fans out there(:banana:GO GIANTS!).

I just heard last night that Lady Gaga is the halftime act. Why? :dunno: I'm not interested in her politics or her music for that matter and lets not get into that here. What I'd like to know is what happened to football fans that they would want to see this act at halftime. In my day it was ZZTop or Aerosmith. I can't imagine the teenie boppers have the moola to afford Superbowl tickets. Don't middle aged, beer drinkin, ball scratchin, wife teasin' men follow football anymore?

would rather they booked an adult band instead of having a snowflake show. our parents probably said the same thing 30 years ago.

IB4 the lock
No reason for a lock if the peeps keep the possibility of her potential politics out of the thread. I don't care what her views are.
Just want to know if I'm alone in wondering why the NFL picked her for the Superbowl show. I would think her demographic would be the teenie bopper set not the peeps wealthy enough to afford a Superbowl ticket.

Being a youngin' what are your thoughts Chayton?

Trying to envision Mel Torme' scooby shu woppin' at the game.

Wonder what's wrong with a GREAT marching band like OSU??

Hell.....30 minutes of ads would be better than LG!!:mad2:

Uh, she is actually quite talented - coming from a 50 some-year old musician. Might not be your preference but.....

agree she is talented, most of her releases are geared toward a much younger crowd. follow the money holds true..........

Mr. Man, google "how are half time performers selected for super bowl?".

It's complicated, but interesting.

And their parents said ... where's ol' blue eyes, Dino, or Mr Show Business???

Rah rah ah-ah-ah :)

She's hot and I'd definitely put her in a pretzel...

lady gaga doing superbowl is no different having janet jackson, bruno mars, Madonna etc. do it. The bob seger shows are out, unfortunately

Perhaps the half-time show is more geared to the people watching on TV than the fans in the stands, who will all be too hammered to care whether it's Lady Caca or the Stones.

I think your on to it Baub. The Dir. of Entertainment for the NFL is a woman and she says 40 to 45% of TV viewers are women. She maybe placating to that audience.
Bet if we could watch the Neilsens we would see a drop in men over 30 watching and an increase in teenage girls watching the halftime show.

As was said earlier in the thread, she's actually wildly talented. Not at all my cup of tea (seriously, not a fan), but can't deny the talent.

Whenever they book dumbass pop acts (Black Eyed Peas, Janet Jackson, etc.) I am convinced it's done to bring in more than just the average football fans. For example, a lot of the ladies I work with will be watching the Super Bowl just for the halftime show.

Me...I won't be watching any of it.
Only a few weeks left until the Daytona 500. :D

It took years of hearing my daughters music to come around and finally admit I like some of her stuff.

Then again my IPod has everything from Slayer to The Bee Gees...

Uh truths.

Not gonna lie, because if my kids I'll still catch myself listening to the like of, Brittany prepares, Christina Aguilaras early stuff, some n sync, back street boys and yes even spice girls! It gets drilled into your head so often and nonstop it becomes the norm.

:lightbulbmoment: fake news and liberals hmmm I see how it happens now
